Re: The Credit Card Thread

What worked for me to upgrade to Infinia. To add, I included required supporting documents they mentioned in the upgrade form, like ITR (with CA computation) and payslips.

As final try, I sent an upgrade form via registered post to Chennai office. And within a week got my Infinia card at home.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Any views on Axis Horizon Credit card.

I'll be getting it as a replacement for my Citibank Premiermiles credit card.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

For new application for Infinia, I have been told in hand salary of 2.7 Lakhs per month and above is good enough. Also, you need to have a savings account with HDFC which you can open right before the CC application. This is coming from two different RMs.

the Axis Horizon card offers half the benefit of Axis Atlas card. So if you already have or can get hold of Axis Atlas it is a better card. Ofcourse you need to review the cost vs benefit.

The major benefit above Atlas is generous Group A and Group B transfer limits.

Atlas

Annual Capping: 1,50,000
Group A Transfer Limit 30,000
Group B Transfer Limit 1,20,000

Horizon

Annual Capping: 5,00,000
Group A Transfer Limit 1,00,000
Group B Transfer Limit 4,00,000

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Hi,

I am a HDFC Millennia cardholder and do not have any banking accounts (so no net banking). HDFC asks user like us to use mycards website which is available only on mobile now (earlier on both i.e. computer and mobile). I am having hard time redeeming points. After clicking 'Redeem Now' button it shows that you can redeem via Net banking or via post (screenshot attached). It seems I can redeem via post only and I don't know what that means. Can someone enlighten?

You can use this website for accessing on laptop. I'm not a fan of mycards UI. I use this HDFC Credit card only website. Redeem rewards page opens in new page and I find it easier to access than mycards. On mobile, HDFC mycards UI is integrated with HDFC PayZapp app also, which can be accessed easily, but rewards redemption is not included last I checked.

Thanks. I totally forgot that this even exist. I already had login details noted. Even HDFC customer care never told me about this. They always said mycards is the only way to access credit card portal.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

As I was seeing that maximum .70 paise per reward point is what I am getting on vouchers. And for cash Rs.3000 for 3000 points (max limit with 99+GST as charge) gives .96 paise per reward point. I want to know if redeeming for cash is most rewarding?

Also I don't use credit cards much (prefer cash). I have one Kotak Royale and SBI Elite and I prefer to use those. But seeing reward point value (.20 to .25 max on these cards), shall I use Millennia more often? And how can I maximise point gain?

Re: The Credit Card Thread

This confuses me. I am a long term (7-8+ yrs) user of regalia. Have 42k RP accumulated right now. Instead of 100 90 or 70 p, its giving me some 20 paise per RP. What could be the issue?

For Regalia, you have multiple options to redeem -
1. Book flight/hotels on smartbuy - 50% reward rate (max 70% of ticket cost)
2. Vouchers - Approx 30% reward rate
3. Cash - 25% reward rate (I think)

Thanks Naetik. However right now i can only see air tocket booking on smartbuy as redemption of RP. All the vouchers etc are being shown on gyftr and theres hardly any better value there compared to normal redemptions there.

Check if your card is 'Regalia' or 'Regalia First'. These are two different variants.

Regalia First is a lower card with a lower value per point. The World of Credit Cards is far bigger than people can think of.

I had booked for Airport meet and greet services in April for a trip in June and retained my Magnus card until after my travels. When I contacted Axis last week to cancel my card, they kindly requested that I hold off on cancelling for a little while longer and offered to refund the entire Rs.11,800/- annual fee I had paid in February. I accepted and immediately passed the message to a colleague of mine who was in similar situation and he also got the refund offer. If anybody wants, please try now.
Planning to use up this refund and then proceed with cancelling the card.

Thanks a lot for the headsup Vijin! I called them up and initially they said it is not possible but when I mentioned that I had heard of not 1 but 2 cases, she went back to her senior and confirmed that though they cannot refund the whole amount, they will refund 50% of it since I have used the card for more than 6 months (had renewed in early Dec) which I think is sort of fair.
