Re: The Credit Card Thread Surprise to see these messages about Magnus. My thoughts against the issues / unhappiness which the users are expressing.
P.S. - Do consider the aspect that I am posting some of the comments based on experiences of 100s of Magnus card users being somebody who talks / shares about Credit Cards on Social Media and has a decent followership. No intention to prove anybody right or wrong. Quote:

2. They round up your points because of which you loose anywhere between 5-46% - if the transaction amount is low) of points. Example: If you spend INR 372, (per INR 200, 12 points) you should get 22 points but you will get 12 points only. This amount adds up when you make large number of transactions.
Overall, I have lost around 844 points this month because of 1 and 2. Reason 2 is minor but because of 1 I have lost out a lot. As per my calculation I should have got 3,2XX points but they have credited only 2,4XX points.
So much for a premium card.
P.S: Will share an update if they show up at a later date. |
1. Axis Systems are messed up. I avoided the temptation of getting into Axis Cards for this same reason till the day they announced their Airmiles Transfer Partners for their Credit Cards. That day changed the Indian Credit Card Scenes. Axis Magnus dislodged the might HDFC Infinia from the top spot in Indian Credit Cards.
Why am I mentioning this? Even Axis did not expect the kind of response Axis Magnus and other Axis Cards got. Axis is where HDFC was 4 years back when it comes to Credit Cards Reward Points tracking and posting. All I can say is that they are getting better.
And this competition has ensured that HDFC wakes up from its slumber with HDFC expected to bring in new Airmiles Partners.
2. Round-Off is the case with every Reward Points earning card. Just the impact of the Round-Off is different across cards. Even on SCB Ultimate from 1 to 14 Rs., it is round down. So people lose here too. What people are not taking into account is that SCB Ultimate is nowhere as rewarding as HDFC Infinia or Axis Magnus if travel redemptions is your priority. If travel redemptions is not the priority then best to switch to SBI Cashback card.
My Two Cents - You are looking at probably the highest rewarding card globally when it comes to Airmiles. Focus on the 1 Lac Milestone instead of rewards not being received on certain differential amount on every transaction. Quote:

Also does anyone know how and when do the bonus 25k rewards points credited ? I've got my first statement and spent about 200k in the first month, yet to see these being reflected in my Traveledge portal. That that the Traveledge ortal itself isn't working is a different issue. |
The 25K Bonus comes after 90 days. I have received it for two months till now and they are within the time-frame. Quote:

SBI cashback and SC Ultimate are my main stay now. They credit the points and cashback within a day or two and are very easy to follow. |
Banks arent charity houses. They too need to protect their interest. Similar T&Cs are on HDFC Smartbuy, Amex Reward Multiplier, Citibank Referral etc etc.
If you are in this game from a long term perspective, these TATs shouldn't matter much, specially when its about Airmiles accumulation. Airmiles accumulation is a game of Patience. You accumulate points for 12-18 months to redeem for a major travel goal. |
