Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Well to me it looks possible with some insane driving skills and maybe a few bashes to the front and rear bumpers.
Here's a neat video which shows how it can be done. In this, the rear wheels are locked with the handbrake and the front wheels turned fully to lock. But question is, would this work on a heavy fortuner!

I don't think that guy parked in such a tight spot. He might have been the first one to park there ; the cars in front and back might have been parked later. But he managed to take out the car nicely though. Not clear whether he touched the other 2 cars.

One thing is for sure. It will not get stolen without waking up the owner

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Now this seems like straight from the Need For Speed videogame.
Wonder if the driver is still out of job. He could very well enroll himself at shopping malls in Delhi where parking space is at a premium.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Are we sure this pic is even from India? I mean look at the tail lights, they don't match the current-gen Fortuner which has clear-lights. They look like the after-market LED ones. Just saying..

I was witness to a very similar display of parking skills a couple of years ago, right in front of my house. Let me explain:

There was this Innova taxi that parked in front of my house. We wouldn't normally mind someone parking there, but this guy parked in such a way that it blocked part of our gate, which made it impossible for our cars to enter the house. The car was parked there for several hours, and the driver was nowhere in sight.

My dad was annoyed, and wanted to teach the driver a lesson, so we blocked the Innova by parking two of our cars really, really close to the front and rear, not touching it, but so much so that he cannot take it out without our help.

We waited for the driver to arrive at our doorstep. A couple of hours had passed, and when I went outside to check, I was in for a shock - the Innova was gone!

My dad and I were left puzzled over how the driver could have managed to take out the car with almost no gap at the front and rear. I thought he could have nudged either of our cars to make space, but no, there were no scratches on the bumpers or tyre marks to indicate that.

We were astonished and amazed. I wished I could ask the driver how he did that, but we never saw that Innova near our house again.

Now, the point is, if you can take a car as big as the Innova out of a really tight spot, I'm sure that you can park it the same way as well. It just requires time, patience and a whole lot of three point turning.

And you missed out on the party flag (under cover) & rain guards/visor for the windows? Typical Indian neta car and that too a Fortuner.

I think this can be done, but will take a lot of time and involves a lot of negative energy.

P.S - Poor power steering fluid & its mechanism :(

These are most likely after market tail lamps. I guess the one in this picture.
I have seen quite a lot of Fortuners these days with these lights, mostly being the 'TRD Sportivo'.

PS: Photograph sourced from google images.

One of my early driving lessons: Do not turn the wheel when the car is stationary: it is bad for the tyres. With power steering, we have all forgotten that one.

+1.
To add to this, never change the gears when car is standstill with the engine OFF! Seen many drivers do this regularly specially while waiting at traffic signals.

What could be the reason?

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Seems a bit fishy that the owner of a Fortuner clicked this picture with a worse camera than my now-retired decade-old Moto Razr V3. All signs point to the use of the clone stamp tool :P
