Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

The world record for the tightest parking is held by a Mini Cooper S with a space 6 inches more than the cars length.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

I strongly feel this has been done by n number of turns by the driver and parked it in that space. Hence the black marks near the front Tyre.

IMO, if it has been drifted into the space then the rear Tyre would have been made its marks similar to the video of the mini cooper. If we notice in the video, when he applies handbrakes the rear Tyre's get locked and skids in.

The driver's salary dispute is a highly debatable thingy. Am inclined to believe that it was merely made out to create a sensation on the SNS.

So let's set that aside and talk about how the vehicle got there irrespective of who did that.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Seeing the tyre marks on the front, i can only think of this : The driver reversed it at a high speed and while turning, applied the hand brake which might've caused the front tyres (and the rear ones too, i guess) to lock and the car slid to that position. Or, they used a heavy duty forklift kinda thing to move it to that position!

Interesting to read all the endless possibilities and theories behind this remarkable feat.

The guy who did this - whoever it may be- an unpaid driver or an owner doing a publicity stunt, either with his own skills or with the help of more manpower/machines, would be laughing his head off now.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

The fortuner has 4x4 with an open central diff. So pull the handbrake and give it some gas. Front wheels would spin. Now steer the vehicle to right. It will crab itself to the parking space.

No wonder the driver wasnt paid. He must have abused/experimented with fhe car a lot.

You guys can try this theory on any fwd hatchback as well.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

If the car had actually been driven into that gap then those tyre marks should have been present all through the road along the lines of front tyres.

Something like this:

Fortuner: Insane parking!-fortuner-case.jpg

Maybe the car was shifted inside using portable hydraulic jacks or something like that and was later moved little bit more without the jacks and hence the marks on only that small area in the actual pictures posted.
Just a theory, might be wrong.
BTW. any idea which city is this?

All theories are accepted til the truth is out.

I guess it is somewhere in Kerala. Don't know why!

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Hi All,

The said Fortuner picture had a good circulation on whatsapp. I really wondered as how this could be done for my fortuner as well, in tight parking slots.

Its seems like a wealthy Gulf worker decided to secure the Fortuner in his Courtyard (Aangan) before proceeding to his place of work. Used all the Muscles to lift the back and align it after driving front (heavy portion) in.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

You guys are surprised with a not-so-long-wheelbase Fortuner being parked like that? Bleh!

The vintage car section has already seen this long ago. Take a look Thread link. Mind you, it is an ultra long Chevy Impala

EDIT: Here's how they took it out Post link
