I have done around 170kmph in ford mustang 1971 model in dammam ---riyad saudi arabia,later raced it without apllying brakes between dammam khobar,manual 3 gears model.sold it for 500 riyals.85 kmph without brakes on splendour controlled it with gears sold it for 11,000.Done 60 kmph with accelerator wire holding in my hand on a busy traffic day in hyderabad.Seen a saudi going past me in a flash in a pickup datsun at more than 200kmph coz i was cruising at 190 in a merc.regularly done 160 kmph in caprice classic 1983 model

Most petrol cars achieve their top speeds in 4th gear (in a 5speed tranny), so if you achieved that speed in 4th @ 4900rpm, then it can go over 170kph for sure.

what about a modded car... achieved 180 kmph in 4th @ 5500 rpm i guess then what? car will go over 180 kmph in the 5th gear for a modded car?

Recently managed a 180 kph in my stock Lancer. Clear roads for 4-5 kms ahead and thought it was the best time to extract the max outta her. She refused to go any further than that, no matter how hard I'd try. But I am overjoyed.

Down-hill just before the 2nd toll naka approaches on the Mumbai - Pune expressway (heading from Mumbai towards Pune).

a) 135 kmph on my 1967 VW Beetle(Tumkur Main Road)
b) 130 kmph on my 1997 M-800 (Tirupati Road)
c) 135 kmph on my 2001 Matiz (Tumkur Main Road)
c) 160 kmph on my Safari Dicor (Road to Dharwad)

These many, but i still think my machines are capable of much more.

Arey, I was talking about bone stock cars!! Modded cars will achieve higher top speeds, but still it depends on what it is modded for - higher top speed/greater acceleration.

Dicor 3L ! yes at 160 kmph on odo,no modifications (ITS A STOCK SUV) would love to share the video taken by my brother while touching that speed.

With 6 kms of road strecth that can be seen from your car and no traffic, we have easily achieved this with 5 adult +1 kid in the car and lots of luggage at rear and with a/c off.

All the top speed figures mentioned are with min of 5 people in car.

This can get dangerous at times. advised not to try this too often.

THe more we try, the mor faster we go and the more faster we go, it will make us come back to this very thread and tell on top of our voice on what we achived on what car..
