M5 in Mumbai

Spotted this M5 (atleast it had the kit) around Lilavati an hour back. Driver was parking it aorund with a black E-class. I guess this has already been posted before but I haven't been able to locate the thread. Mods, please merge with existing thread if necessary. I asked the driver to rev it, and it sounded like a genuine M, and even had that deep throated growl at idle. So is this one or not? White leather interior. And had that M button as well, driver spoke about it.

Flyingspur,

Threads merged.

As i've mentioned earlier - one good way to tell is to look at the brakes. In this case you can clearly see they are cross drilled.

Heres another great thread to help you in the future : http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/super-...tml#post299887

It doesn't get more M5 than this! Its definitely an M5. The exhausts give it away too.

Yeah I saw the callipers. That's why I took a pic of the rims especially. And I've been wanting to sit and read that thread since a long time, it's all Yeti's fault, I end up reading his travelogues preferentially instead Thanks for merging the threads R.

Definatly not a kit... its a genuine M5.

But there are several 5ers that will have M kits in times to come. There already are a few around town.

I definatly prefer the classic 166m stock wheels on the M5, with the amount of m6 replicas the charm has just gotten lost. The only wheels that come close are the 172s which i believe a south indian star has put on his white 525d+m5 kit, saw it in another thread.

lone thing i dont understand is that why should cars like these have drivers?
arent these supposed to be self driven

if he want to be driven around be a driver,he could get a 7 series for the same price

The chauffeur (who was IMO not more than 30 yrs old) was just parking the cars around the street while his sethji had gone somewhere. What happens on the road is that the chauffeur follows the M5 (driven by the owner) in a black E270 CDI.
