Good to see your post after such a long time, Rob !

Any idea how did the crash happen? Hope nobody was injured. Majestic is one of those unlikely places where one can see a supercar, I wonder how did the crash happen. With so much traffic around Majestic, there is virtually no place where someone can try out any antics with a supercar.

Haha thanks bro

Regarding accident, I heard the exact thing that is quoted by GTO. Happened late night so traffic might have been less.

Had a word with the owner's friend, no one was hurt/injured. And as you said, the car was not speeding nor was the owner violating any traffic rules either.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Late night and Majestic. Driver was probably heading towards the late night cafes on Mysore road or take the diversion on N.I.C.E road and head back into the city. Its gut wrenching to look at the pictures. I think the car was delivered recently?

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

The damage received on the Huracan seems extensive yet fixable.

Glad to hear that no one was injured. Majestic is a notorious area during rush hour itself as people usually look for quick shortcuts by flouting rules. I'm sure the scenario would be riskier late at night.

Two more bite the dust!
No idea as to when, how and where exactly these happened though. Got the info via a whatsapp group.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

The Porsche doesn't look too bad, but the audi looks like it was driven through a wall, or had one fall on it!

I seriously believe most of the drivers of these sports cars do not understand the physics of such powerful cars - both of these cars I believe are in the 540 to 600 hp range and weigh ~ 2 tonnes. That ball park works out to 270 to 300 hp/tonne. A modern regional turbo-prop airliner like the ATR (which Team BHPians would be familiar with) has a power to weight ratio of 250 hp/tonne at full load - and it takes off with that ratio (ignore the wings for a moment)! A naval patrol aircraft such as the Dornier Do 228 has a ratio of 225 hp/tonne. It would require a very mature individual and experienced driver to handle these cars without hitting something or someone. When I used to drive my Dad's Standard Herald as a 21 year old I didn't think of myself as any less than Sean Connery (after all that's what hormones are like at that age). I wonder what are the emotions and state of mind of an owner (most fairly young) when driving these cars and in what way this contributes to accidents.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Looking at the area of the damage , it seems the RS7 rammed into a brick wall, which collapsed onto it. Explains the bricks on the car and the smashed rear windshield and brick pieces inside. Any more details on this mishap? Haven't seen a pic of a blue RS7 with these wheels on the forum - so must be a brand new vehicle.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

That RS7 mishap is quite alarming. Seems like the car rammed into a brick wall. I hope all the occupants were safe.

I did happen to see this RS7 about more than a few weeks ago and it was being driven rather fast but with the proper control.

However, our roads are not uniform. There are stretches that are great for controlled speeding and there are road where we need to be really slow. And almost every road has some percentage of uncertainty when it comes to sudden potholes, roadblocks and more.

There needs to be a lot of extra care that must be taken especially while driving such beasts.

I pray that the occupants are safe and hopefully the owner can claim his insurance.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Painful to see to brand new rides in such a state. The Panamera will live to tell the tale, not sure about the extent of damage on the RS7 though. There's bricks and other debris lying on top of the RS7, so it probably hit a wall, causing the rest of it to fall on top?

I think the Panamera turbo was in Surat.

If it is the same car that I think it is then this car is close to a year old but was never registered. It is often seen on Sundays here in Bangalore with those TC stickers. Seen it quite a few times personally but never bothered to notice the number carefully enough to say if it is the same car, but I think it is.
