So thats what a official R1 will fetch when sold. That bodes well for guys like me, mebbe I can realistically think of buying a 2-3 year old R1 for around 6.5L.

Which part of Bombay are you from?

Cheers

8l is acutally a good rate, down south, rates go much higher and bikes with clean papers command a lot.

for general info: a 2006-2007 r1 without proper papers sell for atleast 7L here.

s6, just a small doubt, why didnt your friend place a ad in autocar india or some other good automobile magzine?

He wasn't that desperate to sell it. Just putting an ad on tbhp and xbhp was enough to get a lot of calls.

The guy who owns the bike now was sent a link of the ad on tbhp by his friend who's a member.

Indeed 8.5L (not 8L) is a good figure. Of course it helped that the guy who bought the bike is not married and is 40.

As an aside how much would a 600 of similar vintage approximately cost, papers not withstanding?

Cheers

He's going to get married soon but you want to know the best part? His office pays for fuel! He can use the R1 as his everyday ride if he wants .

Are you looking for a '07-'08 600 whith jhol papers?

Talk about having your cake and eating it too but considering the position that he holds it should not come across as such a big deal.

Am I looking for a SBK as of now, no not really. But in a couple of years (if all goes as per plan) then I would be. But still wanted to know the prevailing rates of a 600.

And since legit 600's are hard to come by, jhol bikes would also do.

Actually yes, we still are. And it would be pointless to open a new thread for the topic that was being discussed.
