Re: Team BHP Bangalore Mega Meet 2012 - wake up!!!

Oh boy... damn excited man . Count me in for sure with my family (wife + kid). This would be my first Tbhp meet, been waiting for this from quite some time now. Last week, Mumbai fellow Tbhpians had a similar meet. That's when I searched for Bangalore meets and this was the first thread I chanced upon. In time uhh!! Thanks Asdon for bringing this up

As raj.barcode mentioned, Karwar indeed would be a little too far, from Bangalore its around 550 Kms via Hubli but the roads are awesome throughout. Just to give an idea, on 2nd Jan, I drove down from Karwar to Bangalore. It took me around 8 hours with breaks driving between 100 to 120.

If a choice is giving to me then I would vote for Nilgiris. Simple due to the fact that everyone would have visited Masinagudi, Coorg, Bandipur area.

Re: Team BHP Bangalore Mega Meet 2012 - wake up!!!

Mods/@n_aditya could we list all the options listed by @asdon on a poll and dates (11/12 Feb and 18/19 Feb) as options and give 2/3 days for folks to respond. This way we could get done with the decision sooner, if we keep going this way it seems endless.

I am open to both dates, and any location.

Re: Team BHP Bangalore Mega Meet 2012 - wake up!!!

Guys, just a suggestion. For a planned large meet it's usually best to plan like a day trip. Going early morning and returning by evening.

It's best to avoid mysore road as it's really no fun for a drive. Many will drop out if it's masinagudi, bandipur only cause of the not so great roads and it's a hot spot for visitors.

There are a few options like some resort in Hoskote side like Confident Amoon. Small drive + breakfast + lunch and back evening or maybe a resort called Guhantara on Kanakpura road. We could work out a deal with the resort in advance.

My vote is for the resort on Kanakapura and for a day trip. For folks with family best to go in the morning and be back by evening (this will help in getting approvals for future meets from home ministry).

Re: Team BHP Bangalore Mega Meet 2012 - wake up!!!

I would still vote for night-out meet as long as we find a decent accommodation considering its going to be a family affair. I really liked the place in the pic that @Speed Pujari had posted of the place in Masinagudi on Page 2. If Masinagudi would be too crowded and common, we can go to some place else.
Just my 2 cents else I am game for anything

Don't worry vid, we take all concerns into count before everything is final, and we still want it to be overnight trip, as day trip are done through the year and a mega meet with family need some more time. When we went to Nagarahole we still used mysore rd, and a convoy of 23 cars, boy it was an experience!!!

The place is still not confirm, we are checking the member list first, then it will be followed by a mini meet over a cup of coffee to decide the place. And yes budget is everyone's concern. Still if members are not in the mood of nightstay, we will think for options. But my vote would still be for night halt.
