Yup, a lot of people might like drinking something other than what's being served so asking whether they'll serve something else is a good suggestion.

Speedy, why would a last minute confirmation dampen anything at all, see you there mate.

Ishan, the whiskey, vodka, rum and beer is going to be domestic. They will have the upmarket stuff at the bar, and will be charged at actuals.
And, they do not allow bringing in of alchohol even at paying cockage.
And, the music is a part of the package, we know you are loud enough, but the music is for the few moments you might just wanna take it easy!!

Viper
Of course we would. Please find out for us Jiggybhai as Im sure we would be interested. I think hearing the 850/- bracket will not go down well with most of our non drinking members. What say guys??

The non drinking guys are barely a handful (atleast from the confirmed names), and i'm yet to hear from the Ginseng manager, hope he has managed something.
Spoke to Jigs, he said he'll ask around and get back with places that offer BYOB.

Hi Gogi

There are 3-4 places that come to mind but all in South Mumbai though.

1> Mischief Dining Bar - Have a private room with DJ etc and can accomodate upto 50-60 people. Min guarantee required 35 pax.

2> Symphony Restaurant - Gowalia Tank Road

3> Greens Restaurant - Lamington Road.

All the above 3 allow BYOB now only need to find out if they are available on the day and what they would charge for the dinner buffet. I guess should be approx 350-450 per head. They are a bit costlier than Sea-Lord

I have heard of Mischief and know of people who have gone there. I guess hes got a DJ too (if someone wants to dance in all male company). I think the above rate is good enough. After all prices have gone up the roof in the past one year. All of them would shut down at 1.30 a.m.
I think you're on the right track. Have also seen Symphony from the outside but dont know about Green. Chalo, do let us know when you speak to them

Brands for alchohol:
whiskey: RC/Antiquity
Vodka: Smirnoff
Rum: Bacardi
Beer: Fosters

Ginseng cannot help with the distinguishing deal. If its ginseng, we either go with the alchohol package all the way, or the non-alchohol package.

Thought i do have a certain way of figuring this out:
Instead of the upfront 850, the non-drinkers pay 650, the guys drinking pay 925, doubt there will be a balance on the bill this way.

For example, 35 people; 10 non-drinkers, and 25 who drink
10 x 650 = 6,500
25 x 925 = 23,125

Total bill = 35 x 850 = 29,750, a hundred or two short, yea watteva!!

But, we will need confirmations by the 6th, and last minute non-drinkers would pay a full 925.
