The much photographed "redfire" car is here again.
Monsoon DRIVE - Kochi-2596360119_a07f5f3846.jpg
I have been wanting to post this for some 24 hours now but it is not happening. First I thought it was confined to sending an attachment then I find that I can not post at all. Seems like a Firefox 3 Java glitch which seems to be preventing the "POST" function.

Anyway I have reverted to good ole Opera for this post. So let us see how this goes. OK, Enough said.

The link for a large size on Flickr is here. All my work is normally parked there. Just above the image you will see a radio button "All Sizes" which carries the various sized images.

Have you all removed the stickers from your rides?

guys, cant just digest the fact that it has been more than a week since we blasted off for the drive and a week for today since we ended the same.
Have you all removed the stickers from your cars? I havent and am still driving the car with the same. But it will be removed this week for sure.

This is a late writeup I know, because i have been travlling every day after the drive.
I desperately wanted a meet to happen when I was here in trichur, becuas ethe last meen I joined here was in 2006 at the riveira suites, and that was when Louis aka Rippergeo opened this thread altogether (thanks pal).

The plan to me was just a meet but the drive was a bonus and that also sparked the idea of taking the ESTEEM for a drive, because it has been some time since this car has seen some serious drive.Even before the drive I was sure mine would be the oldest car of the lot(it is a 1996 LX, with 100000+km on the odo)Even the clutch on the car is original and hasnt been changed(its weak though for the spirited driving) and was the only thing that I feared will give way during this long drive coupled with quick up and down shifts.
The idea of taking this car for the drive was to check in the real world driving where we have CRDI's +MPFI roolling the rosts how a carb engine with 65bhp(I doubt now) and just 103Nm would fair up.
I wasnt dissapointed at all and this has even increased my love affair with this car. I did see constant 120+ and at some strecthes doing a 145+kph(both speedo). The only new bit on the car was a pair of new KONI Red's.

I really enjoyed the drive and was happy to meet all of you in person and discuss something or the other. However I have to admit I never came to know anything on the KPBOLERO part , I was fast asleep an dam happy to know everyone is safe and sound.
The videos I have captured during the drive cant be uploaded to youtube, I have tried and will keep trying.I guess its because of the High resoultion 16.9 format.
Veelubhai, thanks for the morning call and for the company while heading cochin and also during the return.we have to meet up once more before I leave prob during one of these days, lets see if it can happen..
Thanks steer, srijit an dveelubhai for the compliments on the driver /Knight rider stuff.
@Zack, the flickering light, as told by the workshop, can happen since the car is old and it might be a loose connection it couild also be because of the long drive. Nothing to worry though; BTW, you have 2 lovely kids.
Ripper,ram,jayd,ASHVIN,mansidea,srijit,ezee123,pat chyboy,ishanbhai,maserq,kpzen,thekids,kb100,mclare n1885,tadukuttan,wichu,redfire,sankar,malludude,xi nome, bombatt, trrk and all the others (I am sure I have missed many names)who made it for the drive -THANKS, for making it so special.
will upload the snaps after resizing them.

CaliKnight, you were really brilliant during the drive. You were always behind us at a safe distance.
It was hard to believe that it was a stock esteem

We were sure that you had some tachos and shift lights and stuff and thought that it was a modded one. The Knight Rider lights removed all doubts

If you want help uploading your video, please PM/email me. I will try to help.

Lol, I am one to talk. I havent started clipping videos yet. Maybe I should do that now...

CaliforniaKnight, its always nice to see a well maintained esteem, especially if it is driven by a keen and passionate driver. Memories came flooding back as i reminisced about by college-days bitch..my carburetted maroon esteem!

Long live the lone crusader!

Yeah ASHVIN did a fire dance. Here is the sparkling proof.

It was a fine jig and some heavy firework while he was at it.

( the idea for the shot is ASHVIN's I am just the poor photo man.)
