Guys,
Since the original GQ guys (hvkumar, sultan, hrag, mjothi & ramky) have opted out of this trip & the the dull response from others, I was thinking of doing this trip even on one car provided atleast 2-3 guys join me from bangalore.
I spoke to Drivealot on this, he has agreed to join me on bangalore-mumbai stretch.
I need a few guys for the full GQ.
HVkumar has assured us of all assistance/advice.
So guys anybody want to join me PM me or mail me.
I just cant do this alone.
Hence, 3-4 guys we go or drop the idea.

Its sad ending to say the least.
Also if someone is planning to do the entire GQ trip or are going to cross Vadodara, I will be happy to meet them on their way.

Good God! I spent an hour reading the posts about this GQ drive, only to find that after almost 5 months of discussions, it all starts to fizzle out. I thought I was the only crazy driver on the highways who did 24-hour stints at the wheel, and after discovering T-BHP, I read all about hvkumar and hrag's GQ drive - at about the same time that I was doing Delhi-Kolkata-Puri-Benaras Delhi, during the New Year weekend. hvkumar / hrag, you guys did a great job - going by your Excel file, you'd done a very good job of driving AND record-keeping. I can match your details with my personal notes - I've driven Delhi-Vapi as recently as in October 2007 - some photos of the NH-8 are attached, and one of my speedometer when driving on the NE-1.

As a newbie to T-BHP, I just came across this February GQ plan today, for a drive which is less than 10 days away. Too short a time to plan, else I would have been all for it. My best wishes to all of you who would finally do this trip, if at all.

Am Game to do the Delhi-jaipur-delhi leg. So if you guys are setting out on the drive please do keep me in the loop.

@SS, welcome to the group, trust me there are lot of us like minded people aaround. have done a lot of highway driving and still love it.

Whatever gets decided, I'm game only worry is how to take off from work... if it is a weekend thing i'm surely in, pm me anytime, I do Mumbai-Delhi Every year, 1nce in Santro,1nce in Scorpio and 2wice in Civic, this last trip was not so good as the road up Vadodara sucks, i damaged to alloy wheels, the road is very bad for a car like civic... but post that it depends how fast u and ur car can go... its like driving in Dubai... the roads are smooth as butter...

Boys let me know if it is a short stint I'm on anytime anyplace...

I guess there indeed is very little response, The alternative dates should work fine for me, but I think it will be just a GQ drive. Will PM/Call you.

good thought but anyone has done this before, reason asking to take the tips from ther experience well i am from coimbatore , i will raise this in our meet , how do you break up the expenses so more clear for members than thiking oooooooooooh

The next GQ drive is tentatively fixed on 4th April 2009.
Since hvkumar & gang did the GQ drive clockwise, we shall do it anticlockwise ie.,BLR-CHN-KLK-DEL-MUM-BLR.
Any one interested.
Hope we get better response this time

I'd love to join if it ends up being delayed to June! Although peak summer and monsoons are not a good time to go driving the country, I suppose.
