We could have stayed back for some more time on Saturday night. Also, I could have tried little more on Mr Audio's shiny red car...

Anyway, our idea of bunking the whole drive to Pune was much better than seeing those few on the expressway. We had a great time otherwise.

All in all awosome drive and meet. Th emain event was a flop but the TBHP meet was a super success.

Well, the moto watever was big time flop ... no good cars either...
Manson, kooldude and myself were the 1st one to reach ... with Manson clocking 185 kmph in his new OHC 1.5 and then we had to stand near the lonavala exit and watch these "Super-cars" pass by as others were still at toll bhoot. Only thing I enjoyed the H2 changing lanes from 1st to 3rd, scaring its way to Pune and thats the first time I really liked H2.
Then had some nice food and back on our way.
We were not able to meet Pune members due to time problems and other Bombay members which missed out were V12, Gordon, Gaurav, bhp and rareone ... sorry if i missed some then .... and hope they come next time.

anyways after all your comments on the rally let me finally tell u something frok my point of view....
firs t of all the turnout of the cars in the morning was definitely dissapointing as the so called real super cars was absent .....but then again the event was to raise charity and me just got the news that it has done better then expected in terms of collection of funds......
i no as car buffs we really missed the real cars but then again i guess there were some real cool cars aboard....and maybe the turn out of cars was a flop but the enire event as a whole in terms of its objectives was beter then expected..
let me tell youll how my day on sunday went....
i turned up at lands end at 10:00 am in my landcruiser...was orginally going to remove the firebird but after knowing the route we were taking decided not two (im glad for that)......we had some breakfast at lands end followed by a briefing on the route and then given t-shirts and some goodies and a tulip chart with directions.......
my car was the first t be flagged off at about 11:45 (thanks to dads influence) and i went about the given route which included going all round pali then to mahim, then to shivaji park then to kings circle and from there we went along the normal higway to the expressway via palm beach road....the aim was to stop at the various pit stops and to answer the question given there and the winner was to be decided on that basis and not on any time...but if u did miss hese stops u were penalised....many stops were missed as cars were speeding and never wanted to stop.,...
since i was the first i led the rally till i reached the expressway ...once there i stopped for a leak only to be over taken by the second landcruiser and the range rover...
the other landrover was a v6 manual diesel...i was driving a v8 automatic petrol....
i decided to catch up with him and the range rover...
i pushed on the gas till i was doing about 190 in the third lane to overtake the other land cruiser who was in the second lane.as i was doing this i saw lighs blinking in the rearview mirro and guess what i was smoked by the cls which was doing about 270......the poor dude had a puncture later on once he reached pune....i was third now behind the merc and the rangerover but then a whole lot of cars including the bmmw 7 series , the audi a6 and tt and about four mercs overtook me along the expressway........
once in pune after crossing the city we went into bad dirt roads where the tables got turned and overtook all the crawling mercs and flash car big time....we reached the corintians hotel in pune at about 2 and i had reached fourth......i forgot to mention that i passed my fellow t bhp members at the tool booth......
in the hotel there was lunch along with some photo shoots and only 25 cars turned up finally at t he hotel...a few had broken down and a few had backed out due to the bad roads in pune......
back to mumbai was basically flat out without any pit stops as earlier planned as time was not on our side........pushed the car and was constantly doing 200 along the expressway..once im mumbai got bad traffic and so i stopped for ome chai and then procedded...reached lands end at sharp 8 in the evening and met dippy out there..there was going to be a party at about 10 so all the drivers were basically going home and were returning back at 10...before i took the car back i took dippy and a fellow member for a small little drive and showed off my latest " light force " lights.....dippy dude what did u think of them and my ride ????????
later parked the car in the garage and got the 300 sdl turbo for the party....people present at the flag off must have seen it as it had come to drop off some visiting cards for me...........the party was a boring page 3 party with some real desperate od men (what say dippy)... so i had a drink and left at 12:30 as i had a paper the next day.....
ll said i no it was not a speed ace but with such cars no one wanted to really drive slow but pushed theirs cars hard.....i wouldnt blame them..would u drive a cls at 180..i dont think so !!!!!!
i had fun and all in all it was a very nice experience for me and hopefully ill do it again soon (exams not interfering)

Here's my story.......

Planned to meet Aditya and gang at 'Sadanands' on the Pune - Bangalore highway as i take that road when im headed to Lonavala....
Was escorting my Uncle who was headed to Surat in his Qualis and we were supposed to drive with him till Lonavala an then break off and he'd continue.....
so we reach 'Sadanands' at 12:00 an i call up Aditya, who's still a good half an hour behind schedule [ hahahahahhaha!!!!] an since my uncle was on a tight time line we decided to move on to Lonavala......
stop at the US PIZZA place for coffee..... Call aditya.... he's at the toll booth at the Pune end......so we leave.....hit Lonavala by 1:30...i call Dippy who tells me that the turnout of cars was sad [read : no Ferraris, no lambo!!!] he tells me that hes on the expressway and that the teambhp meet will happen in Lonavala.......
Now i had come with my elder brother, his utterly bored girlfriend, my younger brother and a friend........ and they were out to get a piece of the action, im overpowered and head to the on-ramp from Lonavala headed to pune......we park just where the ramp joins the e-way...... waitin an lookin in the bombay direction.....

then down comes the Audi TT......rippin....awesome!!! we wave an he waves back!!!! he's off....
then the Hummer H2 flies by.....also acknowledging' our presence!!!
then the mercs follow.....
then the X5, 3 series convertible [i think,it was de-badged!]

when the cars had gone, we jumped in and headed to Pune!!!

On the way there we saw Aditya flyin by on the other side headed to Lonavala and later he tells us that he saw us too!!!
we stop at the Talegaon toll plaza....hopin to see some action!!!

there i meet a school senior who's now with Overdrive coverin the event......5 min later he gets a call and heads for the Corinthian club.....

Aditya an gang pull up an we finally meet!!! phew!!!
The Landcruiser and the beemer convertbile arrive at the gates and burn some rubber accelerating outta the toll plaza when they see us cheerin them on!!!!

Then the e-way patrol stops by us and asks us to put the cameras away as photography on the e-way is prohibited!!!

we grab a drink and head for the exit of the e-way..... there we park an wait.......an wait.....an wait....... an then the first "super car" the Porsche Boxster S... flyin by acknowledgin' our presence again!!!! then cometh the royal Bentley Flying Spur.......WOW.......

After my brother's girl had given up on persuading us to head home we decide to.... we say our goodbyes to aditya an gang and split..................

We were headin for Corinthian club which is up the road from my place.......... when we drop my brothers girl home we take the road to the club to catch the beasts basking in the sun..... jus as we were about to turn we see the mighty H2 headed for us..... quick path adjustment and we're following the Beemer convertible, Audi A6, BMW X5, 7 Series, Slk 350, Cls, C class, S Class, E Class and the mighty San storm...... the guys in the cars actually recognized us!!! yay!!! they waved back!!! double yay!!!! i call aditya an told him that the gang wuz headed in their direction and that they should hang around a little longer and get some pictures [which they did!!!] ..........

A major planning disaster........ would've been awesome to have met you'll mumbai guys!!!
Overall a fun day.....

an to top it all.... my friends Nikon Coolpix 3200 went thru 2 sets of brand new Duracells and gave us only a coupla pics..... which i'll post!!!
there's this one last pic of the on ramp that we were parked on ........ the camera died on the shot of the Audi TT blastin by......very sad!!!

Just in... the Carrera S was owned by our member Vack, and the Cayenne Turbo was also owned by him... in the Carrera S was his father and he was driving the Cayenne Turbo... this was told to me by my brother who kind of knows Vack... whoever posted the picture of the black Carrera did not erase the number plate, and if they were smart they would have seen that the number plate was 9666 and that was the same on the Cayenne Turbo... i was not there but my brother was, and he got a few pics... will try to get it off him
