About the problem you mentioned as above, seems to be odd and rare that Scorpio between 110-130kmph should wobble.

Have you checked the air pressure to 31 psi?

Take your car to ASC and have them thoroughly check the Brake distribution system & ABS.

Also, have all the tyres stripped open from the steel rims and check for any tyre/rim aberrations.

Happy Motoring!
Srikanth Bhai, I keep the pressure at 32 psi,as recommended by company.

Have checked the rims while getting the balancing done..did not notice anything unusual.

One thing that I noticed was that all wheels required a lot of weight to be added, something like 75/55 on both sides of the rim and it took quite some time to balance the wheels vis a vis in comparision to my earlier experiances with my sedan.

What tyres do you run on?
If you have JK then the problem mostly will be bcos of them.
I had the same probs when i upgraded to alloys on the stock JK tyres. No amount of alingnment and balancing will resolve it.

tnx
I run on stock steel rims.

The Scorpio came with Bridgestone as standard.

Zen91,

To check if the wheels are really the culprit, ask the service center to replace the wheels of your vehicle with another vehicles' and then drive at the said speeds. If you get the same wobbling, then something else wrong. If steady, you have your answer.

Bought a Scorpio mHawk LX on Saturday. the drive experience is awesome, had few queries hope scorpio veterans can answer:

1) I hear a click click sound whenever i accelerate or decelerate .. I think its the A/C Cut out but i never heard this sound in any of my earlier cars (Verna, Zen, Indica, Getz) Is this common in Scorpio or should i get it checked?

2) I wanted an 8 seater but Mahindra doesnt give that with Lx version, Is it easy to source the rear seats and get it fixed? did anyone try this before?

Thanks in advance

You are correct about the sound that is AC sound, if you don't want that sound, turn the AC High switch and the sound would go away.

Congrats wads78, on your buy !

For the seating modification, I did this on my 2004 Scorpio. But I do not know whether doing this modification will affect your warranty, if you are planning to do this within your warranty period. Please check with M&M before proceeding.

Please check the link below for the modification details. We can continue the discussion in the thread below, if you have any further queries

I have never heard of anybody appreciating the service at Sireesh though I have not personally experienced it. SKS have two service centers. The awfully crowded one at Bannerghatta road and a relaxed one at Hosur Road. I would prefer going to the Hosur Road center as the work done is better and relaxed.

Do let me know when you are planning to go there in case you need some need some contacts/assistance.

I don't think Red liner would agree. The Jakkur manager - Satish, goes out of his way to keep car owners happy.

Shireesh is a bunch of jokers. My one visit to them was a disaster - they did not know what to do, changed parts that did not need to be changed, did not have parts, had a terrible garage....

Last week, the refrigerant in my AC system leaked out thanks to a defective vale (Scorpio 2.6, 2005 - 2,34,000 kms), and I had to refill during a tour in Western/central Maharashtra on some hot and dusty roads. Since I was coming into Aurangabad, I contacted Ratnaprabha Motors and fixed up an appointment.

- The ASC was ready for me when I arrived at 930 am
- The job card was paid with rapidity
- The work of changing the valve and refilling the refrigerant was done in less than 20 minutes and at 955 am, the service team finished the work
- The mechanic tells me that the ASC has a policy of giving priority service to out-station customers (who are in transit), a message that has distilled down to the humblest worker in the ASC.
- The mechanic escorted me through the formalities - job card closure, billing, payment and gate pass

It was a very happy experience. I was out of the ASC in under 40 minutes, with a job well done. Thank you, Ratnaprabbha Motors, Aurangabad, and Anil, Malhar and Deshpande who run things there.

Quite a contrast with my regular ASC at Thane/Bombay Global Gallarie where every chore is a nightmare and an exercise in futility, right from problem diagnosis, commencement of repairs, workmanship to back-office work.

Kumar sir - I reckon this is more of a busy-metro-based-chaotic A.S.S. vs. small-town-based-relaxed A.S.S scnerio that holds good for most auto brands in India! I have experienced this for Maruti and TATA as well.
