For the proper 3M MF (Blue one) you need to contact UD only. Not sure if anyone else will have that. You can buy the yellow ones from 3M shop but they are not so good. I've both the blue one and the yellow one and even though the yellow ones were new and had seen less washing than the blue ones, they've already become quite rough. Blue 3M ones are still going strong.

I visited Pune 3M Car Care and heres my experience:

As informed by yourself, the staff were polite and the place did seem good but could not ascertain the quality of work by the staff as was in a hurry.

I picked up a few micros, the 3M Yellow & Blue ones. The 14inX12in yellow MF was for Rs.99/- while they said they did not sell the blue ones but I managed to get one for Rs.300/- as sample, as I have heard a lot of good reviews & comments about it.

They had quite a few affordable detailing products for sale, mostly Meguiars. They also had all kinds of 3M Additives like: Engine Oil Saver, Transmission Additive, Radiator Additive, Engine Oil Additive, etc. All these additives were reasonably priced too.

The 3M Blue MF used by these 3M guys, comes in a pack of 5 and the price (Rs.980/-) is printed on the pack. The packing does not mention that it is not for retail sales. I just recieved an exact same free sample 3M Blue MF by courier from a 3M vendor which says "Institutional Pack - Not for Retail Sales". I got it after getting in touch with a friend who works for 3M at a very senior level. The price he quoted for this 3M Blue MF - 16inX16in is just unbelievable. I think its a wholesale price. Anyways, ordered 10 of the 3M Blue MF. Attaching some pictures of the 3M MF's.

There is an entire range of products for RainX and Aquapel available on eBay India.

Have you used them before? If so, how good are they for Indian conditions?

No, I haven't.
I use a very thin coat of Colinite 845 after cleaning the windshield with Pril and water and drying.
It works pretty good. Just remember to rub it off as completely as possible.

I was just wondering if there is anything better!!

Man, those prices are insane. I saw a detailers bucket kit with grit guard for 3k something. It's ridiculous!

Just reminding you guys to use micro-fibre cloths around the house too.

They will make your granite shine; they are great for dusting; we even have microfibre hand towels.

They are excellent for plastics. Try on your remote controls, phones, hifi kit.

As ever, use dry, or with the most minimal amount of moisture. Always dry on electronics, of course!

re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Guys need help,

Need to know how to clean the inside of the windscreen. During the rainy season mist forms from inside and its not getting wiped off or cleaned with cloth, even after repeated attempts to clean the same with soft tissue paper different cloths has resulted nothing. In fact i noticed today the water droplet stains have remained and the visibility is reduced, its difficult to drive at night with oncoming traffic lights.

All this came to my notice as the AC has given up cooling. I will get the AC rectified but still need help to clean the inside of the front wind shield.

Thanks,

That's exactly what I am doing with my 36 pack I ordered from Amazon. I also use the Jopasu duster, which is even more useful to clean dust prone areas.

You can get Sonax microfibre cloth from SPAR. They cost less then 300/- and is pretty good quality. Its a world of difference moving from cloth to microfiber. Its so much easier to clean the car. I use one to wash the car and followup with a dry one to wipe. Works pretty good.

You are lucky to have got it, none sells in retail AT ALL. I tried to ask my friends too, none agreed. Getting for 300 is also worth them. They sell in US to retail, UK also they do not sell to retail

^^ I was planning to order Aquapel - just want to know if anybody actually used it and what's the feedback. The Rs. 749/- one that you posted seems to be single use one - right? So, it's pretty expensive !!

I am using Aquapel, it's very effective, however, Waxpol is equally effective too. It's a blue coloured liquid in a small bottle, which you can add to the washer reservoir. Removes all haze, streaks on wash.
I've used Collinite on my windscreen & clean the inside portion with glass cleaner & a MF which works very well. Collinite forms a nice layer which repels water very effectively.
