BHPian ![]() | ![]() Purchased the Mini version last week. Seemed pretty flimsy in photos, but actually feels tough when held in the hand. ![]() Torque SuperMini ELM 327 v2.1 Bluetooth EOBD 2 CAN-BUS OBD2 CAR Reader Scanner Works very well on my Alto K10!! ![]() The OBDII port, when I first found it below the steering wheel, hidden under the dashboard. Had to do some Yoga, a small video and a few random camera clicks to locate it. ![]() A close-up shot: ![]() With the ELM327 reader installed ![]() ![]() Screenshot from Torque (Lite), captured while idling. Haven't tried the paid version yet, but looks like it might be included in the CD-ROM provided! ![]() Only now have Maruti started 'advertising' OBD-II compliance. Recently saw this on the 2013 Wagon R website. Apparently, the Alto K10's mileage now is 20.92 kmpl ('after OBD-II compliance'). Let's Go! |

![]() OBD is an 'information announcement' channel, and has *absolutely nothing* to do with influencing the working of a car. 'Compliance' in the context of OBD is just a confirmation that what Suzuki has implemented as messages / announcements and protocol in the ECU is compliant with the agreed industry standard of OBD-II protocol. Whether the announcement channel is to standards or not (Toyota, for example, differs slightly in message numbering), it has absolutely no impact on fuel consumption. If one asks a Suzuki engineer about OBD compliance and fuel consumption, perhaps the person would likely turn a deep shade of crimson and wish that the ground had opened up below his feet so he could hide. | |

| ![]() Thats pretty lame indeed. But what I dont understand is how on earth are these people squeezing more and more 'ARAI' figures for FE by just firmware changes. Mechanically, nothing much hasnt been done. |

| ![]() Injection "Map" changes. Not rocket science, considering how long they have been at it. ARAI figures, tailored for ARAI tracks. You and I will never manage to get those figures, since we drive on real roads. With idiotic autorickshaws and small and large goods carriers hogging the right lane, preventing you any decent length of time in higher gears. |
