It should work fine. The OBDII adapter and the audio system use different Bluetooth profiles, and hence they can be connected simultaneously (only 1 connection of a given profile can be active, but connections of different profiles can be active at the same time). I daily use my phone to connect to my OBDII adapter, car head-unit, and my Fitbit Blaze at the same time. I did not face any issues at all.

However, in some rare cases, I have heard some phones giving trouble connection to multiple Bluetooth devices even of different profiles, maybe due to some other issues related to that particular phone. What phone doe you have, by the way?

Samsung S4 mini and I won't be upgrading for another year at least - very few choices in that size.

I remember reading about multiple connections somewhere - was it in your thread?

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Has anyone tried QuikrScanner?

http://www.quikr.com/cars-bikes/quikrscanner

Also can someone please let me know if Swift Vxi 2006 model came with OBD or OBD 2 port? I am planning to order this if this works with my swift.

Regards,
Vijay

Maruti made their cars OBD compliant only after 2010. I tried using an elm 327 adapter with my 2008 Swift VDi without success.

So for all those who might be wondering, here is a confirmation that ELM327 works on Fortuner, based on actual test we did today.
Unfortunately, it didn't work on my Fortuner 2011 model. Bought a generic ELM327 from amazon.in, however it failed to read the ECU data completely. Torque couldn't display any reading at all. The unit seems fine, because when I connect it to my other car (Honda Amaze CVT petrol AT 2016), it connects to ECU immediately and I could read most of the parameters in Torque (lite). Hence, things might have changed with Toyota, maybe they became ODBII compliant post 2011.

So this arrived in 30 days and it connects to the Aspire just fine. I'm using the Torque Pro that came in the CD. Documentation says the unit switches off automatically after 30 minutes.

Problem is that when I switch on the car next time, the unit does not automatically connect to Torque. But if I remove it from the OBD port and reattach it, it connects immediately.

Who is the culprit here - OBD reader, OBD port or Torque?

When you switch off the car and switch it on again, two things should happen for the dongle to connect to your mobile:

1. The OBD reader must switch on. Check if lights glow

2. Your mobile Bluetooth option should be on automatically. Generally Bluetooth comes ON when Torque is started but there is a setting for it.

Check these.

Well as far as I know, iCar 3 has this problem, it does not switch back on next time automatically.

Apparently it's normal behaviour.

"Dear,
It is normal.
Eveytime need connect again."

Is this correct. I'm planning to open dispute and ask for a refund.

But which one should I order next. How is icar 2 ?

Technically ICAR2 and ICAR3 are the same. Both are based on ARM chips. Both have auto sleep feature. ICAR 2 has a button and ICAR 3 does not have because of Auto ON Feature. Why order on Aliexpress when it is available on amazon in India.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

I have a ELM Obd scanner connected to my Fiesta 1.6S, and when hooked to Torque Pro, the O2 sensor is showing 'incomplete'. Is something wrong?

Got a ELM327.
Connected to my Manza.

Seems to be working fine on Torque.

Q: am I supposed to keep it plugged in all the time or only when I really wish to use it?

If kept plugged in - it shows a red light.
My concern is battery drain.

You can keep it plugged in always but hopefully you use the car regularly.

If it's used regularly then nothing to worry if not then unplug it before the long parking period.
