Can I know which year is your Sunny?

Check your PM box.

Hi Anurag, the vehicle was manufactured in Jan 2013, and fuel type is Diesel.

I am going to try this in my colleague's Swift today (recent purchase) to verify if indeed the dongle is at fault.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Hi guys,

I tried reading the entire thread searching for a reader for Swift 2007 Zxi model petrol with ABS and Airbags. I got thoroughly confused.

I have one of those blue ELM327 bluetooth which works on my Civic. Any pointers to which reader I should buy for Swift 2007?

The 2007 Swift petrol uses a custom Suzuki protocol. No aftermarket readers are available for it. Only scan tools available with Maruti service centres work.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Completed reading all pages on this thread since Nissan launched the Sunny - not a word on the car

The seller from whom I bought this is gonna get back to me by noon tomorrow with a product confirmed to be working with this car. Let's see!

Another seller on Amazon India has messaged me a link to a product compatible with the Sunny, need to check that now!

Checked on a Swift Petrol (recently purchased) - didn't work on it either! Looks like the adapter is a lemon

IIRC, Maruti Suzuki started using OBD-II protocol from 2011 or 2012 onwards. Prior to it they had their own system and MASS use a SDT (Suzuki Diagnostic Tool).

They cost somewhere between 90-140K.

AliExpress has some SDT costing 20K but I didn't get the guts to put that money there.

Can you share the link from where you purchased the ELM 327?

Here is the EBay link http://www.ebay.in/itm/252284732737

They all look the same, don't they?

I just went with the seller feedback score!

Thank you!

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

After going through couple of posts, I bought an Super Mini ELM327 from ebay last week.

http://www.ebay.in/itm/182120871788?...84.m1439.l2649

It came with a mini CD with Torque Pro software which I installed on my Android phone. After I fixed the ELM 327 on my 2006 Corolla and opened the Torque Pro App, it connected instantly without any problems .

I created profile and I have been able to see the real time information while on the go. However, I am not able to export any information / file to my mail id.

I checked the App setting and also went through quite a few pages of this thread but couldn't do it.

Please help me on how to properly log the data and export it to CSV/excel.

Regards,
KK

I had explained this in another thread. Here are the links to the two posts which show how to log data and how to access/export the CSV file:

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Has anyone come across a OBD adapter that doubles up as OBD scanner as well as GPS tracker (through GSM/GPRS)?

I know a manufacturer here in Bangalore that has a model which can do that. EngineCal is the company's name. The owner used to be a close friend of mine.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

I was just searching about OBD devices and then I came across one OBD Tool called Nitro OBD
http://www.gearbest.com/obd-diagnost...pp_219208.html

The device comes in two flavours, power and eco. This device is really cheap product considering what it boasts to offer. Power Nitro OBD2 increases power and ECO will improve efficiency.

I am finding hard to believe for things this device is claiming to achieve for $7. Is it really possible? or is it a scam?

My advice - stay away from it.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Has anyone been using OBDII adapter for their XUV Automatic? All the posts where it is being used refer to the XUV Manual version. I had a dongle which connected to the vehicle but caused Hill Hold Control & Hill Descent Control errors after some time & so stopped using it after that. Want to try once again but only after someone confirms that it works in the automatic version.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

I have ordered the vgate icar 3 reader from Aliexpress and since my car does not have inbuilt bluetooth I also need to buy a bluetooth adapter for my audio system.

Will both these connect to my phone at the same time?
