Re: 1st Gen Honda City Owners - Problems Areas, Fuel Efficiency and more

Does about 250 at the half mark needle. Is that good or bad?

Just spoke with Rishi, he's sold 5 kits today and is running low on stock. Get em while you can!

Co-incidentally I reached half tank (engine switched off n stationary overnight) with 220kms on the distance.

Just to point out.. the needle will fluctuate or move away from its stationary position when the ignition is turned on or with the engine running.

Did you put HIDs on your stock reflectors or proper projectors installed? The lights look too bright. Give us some more pics buddy.

He said he got the mini cooper style ones, so i'm guessing it's the projectors that come with the mini cooper type projector shroud. Doubt it can be done without projectors for the mini cooper style.

here's a pic of the mini coopers HID shroud

Re: 1st Gen Honda City Owners - Problems Areas, Fuel Efficiency and more

yeah! if i knew he had HID on his mind... i reckon i could have saved some for a bit longer and splurged on one myself! Perhaps we could have got a better rate?

Though I still think the BMW angel eye would have suited better than the Mini Coopers bullet effect shroud design..

Re: 1st Gen Honda City Owners - Problems Areas, Fuel Efficiency and more

Cool. I'll be getting the Depo HL's once the rains are over.. prolly take them to Sainath n get them them done too.

What are the specs of the retrofit you got? Any particular brand?? Did he allow you to customise it with a choice of HID bulbs and shrouds?

From the pics it looks like a 5000K/6000K set

Funkyp, can you please let me know what kind of repair work was carried out for steering oil leak? In case you have pics, can you post them please.

Also, would like to know if this repair work was done on the steering rack or some other part? Can you also list down the parts that you purchased for this repair?

I get a groaning sound when I turn my steering while the car is in idle condition. The sound comes when steering is turned in either directions. I do have steering oil leak problem and am looking for a fix rather than replace the entire assembly which will take me down by almost 17K at HASS.

Anyone from Delhi who got this repair done? I am on the eastern side of Delhi and any good reference for Noida, Ghaziabad or East Delhi will be very helpful.

Cheers.

Hi,

Sorry I don't have pics. When I had visited Hass they lifted the car and showed me the oil leak and asked to get it changed. At that point, there was no noise while steering in either direction.

The work was done on the steering rack and involved 'turning' it on a lathe machine. I guess it's similar to skimming the brake disc. Simple consumable parts like oil seals etc were only required. Most of it was down to labour. I will try and fish out the bill and post it.

@Vivek5870 : The sound you're getting when turning at slow speeds / idle is due to the steering fluid leak itself. You'll also find the steering ever so slightly stiffer if not more to turn about.

Till the time you get the steering leak fixed, make sure to keep topping up the steering oil reservoir with steering fluid. The steering oil should be filled up till the upper level indicated on the reservoir (because oil will keep dripping out causing the level to drop to the lower level quite soon) It should buy you some time, but i'd recommend that you get it fixed asap.
