Close to 4 times Magnatec, today. Mobil1 is selling for almost 1000 bucks a litre.
Mobil1 is proper synthetic whereas Magnatec is Hydro-cracked(HC) mineral oil which can be legally called "semi-synth".

And I think once you switch to synthetic, you should not go back to mineral.

Without sounding too different, let me say that if your car has done 50k plus, the best combo would be Bharat MAK Elite(15W40)- retails at any Bharat Bunk for approx 465 for three liters) PLUS 350ml of NULON(approx Rs.410).The Nulon treatment lasts 20000 kms.Take my word for it guys there's nothing that beats NULON when it comes to engine smoothness.Magnatec ko goli maro.

Proof: My 1995 Esteem which has put up over 115000kms(now with a friend who bought it from me) and has seen 15 ft water in the mega flood of Surat in 2006 was given NULON+Elite when she was at 82000 kms in 2004.Two oil changes later with no more NULON, the engine purrs as smooth as it used to immediately after NULON treatment.

What is the source of the fact that Magnatec is Hydro cracked?

Btw, AFAIK, hydro cracked oils can be labelled as synthetic ...not just semi-synthetic.

As for Nulon, its surprising to see people still recommending that Nulon gooo on this forum...

I wouldn't suggest using it in any turbo-charged diesel.
Errr, anna then what was the oil that you once suggested me? The one you use for your Safari ? I can't recall.

I drive a swift diesel and currently use Mobil Delvac and change it every 5k kms.

Ok heres a question.

Iv been using stock Idemitsu mineral oil in my vtec since day one. It's done about 68K kms now, so planning to go in for Magnatec this time.

What i need to know is, Honda says the stock oil should be changed every 5000kms (only for the OHC i guess). But since il be using semy synth oil hence forth, should i increase the oil change interval to say every 8000-10,000 kms?

And whats your take on adding Bardahl with engine oil..............does it really make a big diff?

PS : Speaking of oil price, i recently saw a 4L Magnatec can, priced at 984 bucks or so.
