If none of this is happening then donot replace turbo instead find the cause of leak (busted oil seal, loose hoses etc.) and rectify it. You might have to take it to outside mechanic (you can ask any car taxi guy about good diesel mechanics in your region, this is how I found my mechanic and have been visiting him since last 8 years).
The turbo is functioning properly. There is a lot of smoke under hard acceleration, but that was present from day 1. The pick-up and the harshness are all normal. I am going to get the oil seals and the hoses checked.

If your RPM goes beyong 2500 in gear 2nd, 3rd or 4th, black smoke is sure to be seen. It has nothing to do with the any malfunctioning. Very evident on my Vista from day 1. No worries.

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

Guys, have a small query here.

Anybody know where the headlight adjusters for the Bright beam bulb is located? I am now able to locate and adjust only the dim beam and could not find the vertical and horizontal adjusters for the bright.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

Guys
I had reported earlier the problem of bounciness at low speeds in my Vista which got solved by replacing the front struts. Now I am seeing a major bounciness at low speeds from the rear right side. 2 of my tyres do have a bulge. I tried putting a different tyre without a bulge on the rear right side but still have the bounciness. Could this be due to a worn out rear strut ? My car has just about done 43k.

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

Folks, I need some info.

This is specifically aimed at Tata car owners in Bangalore. Any suggestions on which is good service station in Bangalore? Near my office I have
1. Concorde Motoros (near Silkboard)
2. Prerena Motors (near Kudulu Gate)

Any suggestions?

If you know any specific service adviser/contact in these service stations who does a good job, I would appreciate if you can PM me the details.

Browsing through comments about these two service centres, both are having their share of bad reviews.

Any good private garage/mechanic who specializes in Tata Vista - especially Quadrajet? Please suggest.

I have picked up a used Vista VX (2012) model. I want to service it and after hearing the horror stories of various people here, I'm a little doubtful on which service station to go for.

Mod Note : Please make an attempt to reply with full sentences and proper punctuation.

We used Indica V2 for a good 6-7 years almost. After the free services , we used to get it maintained by Sigma motors at Kanakpura road. I am guessing that's a bit far for you.The owner is a mechanic himself and has a decent setup. Quite a knowledgeable guy in fact. If you want to try I can search for his details , I must be having his business card with me .

Concorde, Hosur road. I got my Vista all services done here till 92K. In bangalore most of the private garages too charge almost same as authorized ones. So better stick to authorized.
Quote for changing clutch was 1.5 to 2K in all the garages refereed here in Team-Bhp with full day.
Got is done @ concorde for 1150+ tax, in 3 hours including paid service with year warranty on labour and spares

Did you mean the clutch plates? I am also looking forward for replacing them.

Yes. Labor charges for clutch overhaul is 1150+tax and same only CRB(clutch release bearing) change or both CRB and clutch plates.
In my case CRB is making noise and has to changed. As the car has already clocked 84K mileage, i have changed clutch plates also.( otherwise the mechanic said it has around another 5-10K)
Advantage of getting it done with TASS, is warranty of one year on both parts and labor.
I do not think outside garages offer this

Thanks RKG.
Could you please give me the SA name/number ? Maybe thru PM if sharing this info violates any of the forum rules.

I had some pretty weird experience with some SAs in mandovi & Suraksha. (this was for my Maruti Alto) And from the past some years, I specifically ask for the SA whom I have interacted with.. Generally found that this works out better - he also will know the car better.

Urgent Clutch Pedal Issue!!

Guys
today morning on my way back from shopping when I started the car and depressed the clutch pedal, it just went in flat without any resistance. I checked underneath at the ABC pedal area and noticed that the clutch pedal is connected to a rod with a spring load. To me it looked like that rod had snapped somewhere near the spring mount. Is this possible ?

To give you guys a background, my clutch had hardened almost 15k kms earlier and wondering if all that pressure finally resulted in the rod giving up ?

or is it something to do with the clutch plates ?

I am 80% sure the rod looked broken

Check the spring linkage near the rod area as you mentioned. That could have snapped mostly. The pedal has not returned to normal position, Right?!

Clutch, I doubt for it to go flat.
