Confusion!

The confusion will always be there - on a horrible rainy day in Bangalore where you need 2+ hours to reach home due to the choked roads(like nowadays), you may swing towards an AT to avoid half clutching(painful for so long). On other days or out of town, you might want an MT.

I am sure that with this decision you will enjoy each and every km of your daily ride. I mean, if you love your drive it really makes you look forward to it, rather than it being a point A to B solution...

I also went way over budget to get this, but then looking back I am very satisfied. Actually I have dropped my comfortable company transport just to be able to drive my car every day while listening to some nice audio.
It's expensive yes, but you live only once, and should enjoy each and every day of it (without of course compromising on your future)...

Well said yourself ST7677,

Really liked what you have expressed here..You live only once...how very true..Exactly my thoughts on the subject.. Hope your enjoying your Civic & the music! Unbeatable combo!

IIRC it's an R18 engine.

Congratulations. Great pick. Did you put the parking sensor through the dealer or outside. What about the fogs? What was the cost of the parking sensor and which model did you pick? I'm also looking at getting one installed. Does the warranty become invalid if this is done??

I think he's talking about the Electrically adjustable Side Rear View Mirrors and that you can fold or open them with the push of a button.

The rear seat armrest has audio system controls. Volume & channel buttons and a cupholder too.

How many of you civic owners would like to add performance parts to your ride? These R18 enignes needs a little more power in the 1-3K rpm. Dont you think so

Yes it is the R18A and from these articles I think it says R18A1

Honda R engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

2006 Honda Civic 1.8 SOHC i-VTEC engine

I think the above article explains the reason for the same that it is for increasing Fuel economy.

Yeah, But then if we could like put an adjustable cam gear, retard the timing, we could very well get some power in that band. I am not asking for mad scientist performance upgrade, just a little here and there to get the car more responsive.

Yest. I drove another civic, done with its 1st service. I floored the car in the 1st but gosh it took time to reach the 4k rpm. I agree its fuel economy, but dude you get fuel economy only when you drive in 1-3K band of rpm. Atleast when you floor the throttle, the response should be quick. Drive a corolla, floor it and then drive the civic and floor it. Thats when you will understand what I mean to say. No doubt the car is awesome. But Little more Response from the engine will be fun!!

Thankx! My new Babe!

Hello! I have read this forum a million times I think :-) and I have finally got my dream machine, Civic in Harbenero Red. It is really cool!

Me is not a Car Techie and can't talk tech like you experts but I can atleast say that whatever good things mentioned about this car is really true indeed :-). What a car.!

Thought I would just write in something which I didn't like so much.

1. The beige seats look little cheap. Thought my Honda City seats looked
better

2. Suddenly there is a rattle sound when I close the front co-passenger door. I guess this might be because of my car cleaner trying to close the rear side windows forcefully :-)

3. Not impressed by the Horn, it sounds like a Maruti Van type. Also I am finding it difficult to reach for that in the steering.

4. No Pause button in the music system, you have to use the power off switch only. I think my earlier Honda City's Alpine had great features.

But what the heck, the Car is a dream. I just love it. Just zoomed only once and I felt the exhiliration and the feel of taking off in an Airplane.

I had the Ambient Blue LED fixed and it is really looking cool in the night.!

Thankx for all the discussions here.

But if someone can just let me know the calibration of the Fuel guage. Does each Step unit of the fuel guage (the discrete White Blocks) connected directly with the Quantity of Petrol? Say each block corresponds to 2 or 3 litres?

Congrats @mhafeez on your new baby!!

Once you get inside and start driving it, you seem to forget about everything else outside.

In Chennai's nasty traffic jams, it still keeps me relaxed.

Coming to the digital fuel gauge it is only as accurate as the analog gauge in my view, I guess it is only that the display is digital. I think there are about 20 bars or blocks, and fuel tank capacity is 50 litres correct, but the bars seem to disappear after a full tank quite quickly till we get to the 3/4ths of 1/2 tank and hold steady for some time.

When you get the low fuel light on , I usually have 2 bars (inluding the 1 for E) and if I use the auto fuel cut off when tanking up I can take in only around 34-35 litres !!
