Hi,

Did you test the AC in bangalore? I had a short 5 min TD in Delhi, around 4 pm but the car didn't feel cold at all, even asked the sales guy about it and the response was , its been out in the sun whole day running for few mins at a stretch as lot of guys are having TD, not very convincing to me at least, plan to go for a longer TD sometime soon before I decide.

For someone in Bangalore, having TD at 8:30 pm, the outdoors/indoors are cold so the AC performance will seem better of course, its the performance under peak heat conditions that matters.

Anyone in North India/Delhi care to share their experience of the AC ?

To be honest, the NHC is still better. But it's not 1 lakh better, if you know what I'm saying.

the interior quality is okay. the fit and finish is very good but the quality does not feel very prmium.

the door pads, the rubber beading around the doors and the dash do not exactly have that soft touch to them and are on the harder side.

the NHC Vtec has better interior quality than the SX4 but it comes close to the NHC GXi.

the car is aimed at the honda city na. Maruti doesnt mean cheap interiors. I'm just being finicky. the interiors are definitely the best ones I've seen on any maruti. the fit and finish is really good I just like the soft touch dash the feel to be good. the car's these days just dont have that.

I agree with v1p3r the NHC interiors are good but no1 1Lakh better. VFM wise SX4 all the way.

and now that the car is out in the market and we have an owner of the car here don't we represent the market as well?

Guys,
While I am waiting for my sx4 to be delivered, just did a search on M16A engine, look at AutoSpeed - Suzuki G and M-series Engine Guide (section M series engine) - it says that the engine (spec matches with Maruti sx4) was released in 2001 :-(.

we are getting 6 years old engine, hmmmm indian version.....

Taking ur 3% error calculation... If Maruti had 1.5% error as acceptable, there is still a way to twist the 3% and make it 1.5% error if u calibrate the speedo in a different way.

At 100kmph, a proper speedo on a 205/60 reads 100. 205/55 reads 3% higher.. at 103 kmph. (Shorter wheel.. more revolution)

(NOTE: I am just using sample approx values to explain the concept and not actual calculation of tyre circumference etc)

Now Set the speedo to underread a bit for the 205/60. Say by 1.5%
So at 100kmph, it reads 98.5kmph. Error -1.5% from actual 100kmph
Now the 205/55 reads 101.5kmph. Error is 3% compared to 205/60 but only +1.5% from actual 100kmph

Technically its within 1.5% error from the actual 100kmph for both 205/60 and 205/55...

Infact this is true .. Also do note that we don't have the VVT either .. Buts its a good step forward by maruti .. Incase you look at the swifts they are still running the esteem blocks with baleno heads which are the G series .. I would anyday prefer the M series that is being sold worldwide as we speak than stick to the G series engines ..

Satya , I guess you took the delivery from RNS today afternoon ?? Remember the guy who opened the boot of your car ??

whoa!! Looks like the SX4 is really creating waves..... all the responses are provoking the devil in me to trade in my 2 year old Baleno for an SX4..... but i think i should wait for a few months and see how the SX4 performs on the long run.... what say?

@harishsegar: Good calculation, I hadn't thought of that. But note that a variation of 1 % in speedo is also expected as the tread wears out on the tyres. And at higher speeds a speedo error kicks in anyway.

But what about the odometer? It seems undesirable to allow a 3 kms difference in the odo readings of the two variants (at least when brand new) over a distance of 100 kms. So Suzuki might have taken care of this after all.

Are the headers integrated?? They seem to be, like in the Civic.

The car looks quite tall which is not a good thing. If anyone wants this car to whip a Vtec then buy one and reduce the height to atleast 170mm(160mm would be ideal) and change the crappy JK's to better rubber. The VXi comes on Bridgestone Turanza ER600. A good tyre upsize to say 225/50/17 would make it handle beautifully.

The car looks quite good IMHO and the alloys look very sweet.

From the looks of it definately better then a City.
