OT: Saw this Escorts model in my rear view mirror this morning. Was scared he might misjudge and hit me (no, not because its not a Scorpio)

The mHawk 2.2 comes with a patterend paint job. This will be a problem if you ever need to re-paint any panel. You would never get the factory finish.

This problem is also present for cars with decals /vinyls. I personally would be very happy if my fav vehicle (the one I want to buy) does not have decals / vinyls / patterns.

Hi condor,

I took TD for mhawk sometime back and was told by the representative that the patterned paint job can be removed by the company if demanded by the customer...

Thats the trick to identify original paint from a touchup! Am unable to get a mHawk Scorp for a TD here in Chennai. Have had a short TD of the 2.2 and it is miles ahead of the 3.0 DICOR.

Please be aware that all tata warranties are only for the engine and gearbox, all stuff manufactured by TATA only and not their outsourced parts such as PS, PW, HVAC, etc..

I see you prepared the fine print for Tata's warranty.
Boss, why don't u get the facts right before posting on here.
The last time it was the 'toyota innova free 1 lakh km maintenance plan'.

1. Does the 4x4 EX come with alloy wheels. The brochure ways 4x2 EX has steel wheels and 4x4EX has alloys. Anybody clarify that for me because the dealers were nocommital
2. Whats the warranty. I have heard three numbers 18+18, 18+30, 24+24.
The Dealer says Safari gets 18+18 while cars get 18+30.
The brochure says that Taxi's get 18+18 while others get 18+30, and I read somewhere on the website that Safari gets 24+24.
So Its very confusing.
I sincerely hope there is a 18+30 or a 24+24 warranty.
Tanveer -
  • The EX4x4 comes with alloy wheels, the 4x2 has the regular steel wheels
  • The 2.2 comes with a 24 months plus (if you take the extended warranty) 24 months warranty option

Vikram, that is incorrect. I'd posted a detailed analysis of what the Safari Dicor 3.0 litre extended warranty offers you (based on my extended warranty booklet) - pretty much everything. Its out there somewhere, probably in the Extended Warranty thread. Do take a look

The warranty / extended warranty does not cover damages / normal wear & tear replacements. Any thing else is normally covered - as long as you have done your servicing at a TASS / TASC.

Btw, And I just got my fuel gauge float replaced under extended wty.

i think you better check out some of the long term ownership reports on safari, lot of them have even provided the charges that they paid on the service and will clear your doubts.

The 2 year default warranty cover's the entire Truck .... I have got the AC Condensor Fan & Rear Springs replaced in the second year... !!

Agree that the extended warranty terms are different...

But even extended warranty covers AC/Alternator/Power steering etc., except for belts etc., which are normal wear and tear parts.
Even Clutch is covered.
So if after 30K your trucks clutch is hard, you can easily convince them for a new clutch.
Suman uncle got his trucks clutch changed because it was hard.
Anyways, I am into bank negotiation phase now, and best discount negotiation phase with dealers from Ludhiana and Delhi.

Found it, this is for the 3.0 litre, here you go -
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/buyin...tml#post777592 (ARTICLE: Extended Warranties. Yes or No?)

As I said, pretty much everything!

SUV, if you had the 3 litre, you would have had a 18+30 coverage; for the 2.2, its 24+24

Coming back to this topic, Steeroid had PMed me asking how this was possible and I had told him that I would post pics of the same. A small correction. The single seat's backrest doesn't tilt backwards but comes down forward fully like shown below:

When Safari lovers TD a Scorpio mHawk! EDIT:Its a Safari-dscf0016.jpg

Then the rear two seater in the boot strapped with a velcro, behind the umbrella as shown in the pic, is brought down and my son who is partially visible in the frame stretches onto this peacefully. This has resulted in the middle row single seater to depress and sag as you can see in this pic:
