See, its like this, all those warranties hold good only if you can ratify the claims, and that is where I come in. So my fees are over and very much above all that.............!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, if the terms sounds unappropriate, call it "TREAT"....!!!!!

This is becoming more like a darn Indian love story!!!

Went to Concord and made the final payment; did the insurance and all requirements from my side. With the satisfaction of being one step closer, I look at the sales person and ask the question "When?"

The conversation went like this:

Sales Advisor (SA): "Sir, today bank strike..." (My jaws drop!!!)

SA: "... tomorrow also bank strike" (Now my eyes, brains and all are on the floor, searching for a hole to dig into!!!)

SA: "So, we get the draft on Saturday"

I gather my senses and ask him - "So, I get the vehicle only on Satuday?"

SA: "Second Saturday, so RTO closed; registration only on Monday and then delivery!"

WHY ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Not too keen on leaving the vehicle in the showroom for these many days, I ask him if there was any work around. None!

Finally get to the team lead and asks him if anything possible. He has promised to check with his superiors and let me know. If it does, all good. If it doesn't, I am going to ask them to get me a temporary registration on Saturday, once they get the money, and to let me have the vehicle.

@JKDas: What grey color?

@Tsk: Thanks! OTR - had hoped to do the recce this weekend with Khan, to get a first hand feel, but it seems to a no-go as of now. And I have already made plans for each weekend trips for a month, as of now, starting from next weekend.

@Pavan:Thanks! My long wait seems to be a bit longer now.

@Tejas: How can I forget you! Definitely!

@Rocky: I wish!

@Gpa: As Gowda mentioned, car still enjoying life at its parents place!

@Vijay: Thanks! Yeah, the RedBull!

@Dev: Call it what you want, but we are sure on what to do and where. The when is to be decided.

@Unni: Yes, it sure does look like a beauty and a beast.

And yes, I have ditched the idea of the bull-guard as of now. They were offering HighLander guard, while I wanted CarryBoy. So, that is that.

So, as of now, waiting for the call from Concord....

When I landed up to take delivery of my vehicle, all there was an approval from the bank, and I had given them downpayment of 1L at time of booking.
They let me take delivery based on downpayment.
Of course my case was different because in PB RTO registration happens afterwords, no dealer will register car before getting money.
So you have to wait till monday atleast.
However if you have not taken loan from pubic sector bank, the strike should not be of consequence.

as always, there is a feedback form you are supposed to fill and give back when taking delivery.
DO NOT , and i repeat, DO NOT fill it and give it away at the start. Insist that you check the vehicle, are satisfied with the paperwork and the vehicle, and give it to them only just before you drive out.

Just got a call from a senior person at Concord, one Mr.Madhusudhan. He mentioned about the inability to release the vehicle without receiving the full-payment, so Saturday it is going to be. Fair enough.

Yes TSK, a private bank would have not been into such issues, but I think I might be bargaining for lesser peace of mind if I had gone thru them (not that I have had any person bad experience with them, so far).

Got it, Greenie! I hope I do not fall into the "new vehicle" sickness when I take delivery.

Why the 50kms? No idea! Forgot to ask!
IIRC, even mine had ~56kms on odo on the D-Day. Looks like it is a norm with TML to run the bull hard before it finds its shelter. Can other owners confirm this?

Mine had 11.5 kms and i tore them apart

I took the delivery the day it arrived at the yard, 3 days later my insurance, my RC book and other papers arrive home.

Registration done without the vehicle.

They had no choice since full payment was done on booking.

Oh

thats very painful @Happywheels

But as the situation(Bank strike, RTO) is not in our hands, so i would suggest

Please dont hurry up things and take Delivery on Monday/tuesday.

As i have seen people forgetting neccessary things while taking Delivery in haste.

and we are here to give you company, so relax.

In the meantime, lets decide about ICE, seat covers etc

ROFL!!! I was searching for you PM; took some time to understand that you were mentioning about YGPM!

I sort-of like the grill, as of now. So it remains, for the time being.

And yes, my bad, on not noticing the news of the strike. :(

Thanks BJ! Will confirm this news shortly from an other fresh out-of-oven Safari.

EDIT:

@Pavan: You are one lucky chap! 11.3kms on the ODO!!! Man!!!

@Simply_Sunny: We were able to cover most of the checking and now it is just the delivery to be done. I reckon Dev did a more comprehensive PDI than what the service personals would have done! But yes, I hope we do not missing the documentation pit falls that might be. Maybe listing things out would help before the D-Day.

And since the seat covers are part of the pack, no discussion needed. But ICE - no not now! My family will dis-own me if I spend more (as of now, that is) on the Safari. I will have to content with the stock Alpine system that come.

@Mission - Safari: That MJothi fellow is already making fun of me! :( And if it cross 200 posts without delivery, he will start pasting poster in and around Bangalore!!!

Edit: Edit:

One of the accessory that has currently got my fancy is the HID kit for Safari from Philips. Maybe the 10k that I saved of not buying in the bull-guard can be "invested" (oh yeah!!!) here?
