There was a article in rediff a week back listing the small car expected this year with their tentative prices. Rediff took the ford content alone and posted it as a "NEW" topic in Feb 1st. My intent to quote it as a old news was to say that even the tentative price for ford has been floating around for fews days.

What an ugly car. I bet it is awesome to drive. That's the thing with Ford - they have a divine ability to make ugly cars without an iota of character. I just wish the Chevy Beat would ride as well as one of the Fords. Also - the Ford *** is probably one of the worst in the country. They should take a leaf out of GM's book in India and spruce up their service. GTO - excellent review

COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION OF FIGO FROM FEB 5

Ford India will start commercial production of its compact car 'Figo' at its plant at Sriperumbudur near here from February 5, according to a company official

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and Deputy Chief Minister Stalin would inaugurate the plant on Friday, the official said.

Ford had signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government last year, under which it would invest an additional Rs 1,500 crore to expand the Sriperumbudur facility.

The investments include ramping up the Sriperumbudur facility to make new engines and for production of Figo,

Wide spread Tata service network
Not all Tata Sevice centres deal with Fiat cars.
Only around 75 of them deal with Fiat cars, wheras Ford has around 110 of them and most of them are massive and well equipped.

Powerful and modern diesel
Ask any one who has driven both the Fiesta and the Fiat diesel.
It is indeed better in every way than the MJD.
Just beacuse it does duty on many cars(Indica, swift, Ritz, etc) doesn't make it a superior engine.

Multi info display
A passengar car needs a Speedo, Tacho, Odo, fuel gauge and Temperature gauge.
All other add-ons are just frills.
C'mon it's just a car not a Boeing 737.

The area where the Punto scores heavily over the Figo is looks..killer looks.
After seeing the Punto every other car below 10 lacs looks like, it was designed by an amatuer!!
