It is manufacturing defect. I'm just sharing my views it is upto individuals to accept or ignore. I bought from Ashoka wheels hyderabad. Now they are simply denying the warranty claim with biased analysis.
Primacy 4 is not a "SUV" tire and its mainly aimed at sedans focusing on silent ride. Sidewall cut is not included under warranty for Michelin unlike some other brands so I guess you wont have any luck apart from getting a new one.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

I am looking to replace new stock tyres in size 215/60/r17 to 235/55/r17.

Made a few calls to some tyre shops and seems that Michellin tyres are still scarce.

Just one person has it and in Primacy 4ST. I am a little concerned as have had bad experience with Primacy 3ST in 16 inches on the Innova Crysta. Side walls broke on 3 tyres. Changed to Primacy SUV at 60,000 kms and no issues from then.
However he said that the Michellin has only this in the required size.

1. Are the 4STs better in terms of side wall breaks and punctures?

Also, he quote Rs.4000 per tyre for the ones i plan to exchange. 215/60/r17 . Its either Appolo or Goodyear that comes on the Innova Hycross Vx.

2. Is this a fair price?

Thanks in advance.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

Hi,

Tyres in my Next Gen Verna (2017) is due for a change. I am running on the stock tyres Hankook (195/55/R16). I could get close to 60K kms out of the Hankook.

I was considering Michelin 205/55/R16 as my replacement. We to enquire about this in Tyre Empire in Bangalore and I had been told that michelins are available only from R17 and anything below R17 across India its not be imported and anyone who holds will be a very old stock. Is this the case?

Can someone help me in this regards with the information on Michelin's availability in Bangalore?

Sounds like sour grapes to me from the salesman.

Google for big tyre chains like Madhus, Millivision, SLNS Pitstop etc. and make a few calls.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

I spoke to all of them, they all confirmed the same. Michelin starts only from R17. Anything below R17 Michelin is not an option.

I am not sure if this is right thread to ask for, if Michelin is not an option what other brands I can consider?

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

I am taking delivery of my Brezza ZXI AT by next week.Placed the order for Primacy 4 STs and a new set of 17 inch alloys with Mahendra Tyres and Services, Besant Nagar, Chennai.
They are quoting nearly 13k/tyre.

After exchange of my stock MRF wanderers and the alloys, the bill comes to 50k for both the tyres and rims.

After travelling extensively in my son's Tesla in US which had the Michelins, I wanted to go for them too. Since the tyre dealer said that R16 tyres are not available with Michelin, I had to go for the alloys too.

Hope it is worth the upgrade. My driving will be 80% on Chennai roads.

What are you trying to achieve here? Better ride quality or better handling? If you want better ride quality, you should go for a higher side profile tyres. If you want better handling, up sizing alloy is okay. But, difference won't be significant.

Either way, you should go for a softer rubber tyre.

You could try Continental UC6, MRF perfinza, Yokohama bluearth AE51 GT. Or, like, itwasntme suggested above, you could also try Vredestein.

Will you recommend a 225/60 r17 tyre. Will tyres with this size be confined within the side walls of the car?

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

IMO, OE alloys are more reliable and safer than after market alloys. After market alloys are usually heavier than OE alloys, if not weaker. Even if they are light weight, strong and aesthetic, i am sure they will cost you a bit.

The new K15C engine in brezza isn't really a powerful unit. For that, 225 section tyres are an overkill.

If your preference is ride quality, you can add 215/65R16 as an option, and you will have a plushier ride. This was the duster's tyre size pre-bs6. This will give you increased side profile, and better ride, and more brand options.

About the fit, i am not sure. You will have to try it out at the tyre shop.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

Primacy 4+ is now available in International markets, as a successor of Primacy 4. I wonder when they will make their way to India.
