Any idea about the availability in Bangalore? I am planning to get it for my new Creta on delivery. Thanks

Contacted a tyre retailer and they say there is no availability issue now as import restrictions are not there.

The price quoted for Michelin P4 (215/ 60 R 17) is 11,900. I plan to replace the stock JK tyre of Creta (215/ 60 R 17) when the vehicle is delivered.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

Changed the tyres for my Active i20 first thing in the relaxed lockdown. These are 195/55-R16 and I did not intend to upsize.

Went with open mind with below preferential order as I was not sure of availability of different brands, especially Mics.

Michelin p4st
Michelin xm2
Bridgestone B250
Continental MC5
Yokohama AE51

Just chanced upon RR enterprises, Kovilambakkam in google search. They have counterpart in Adyar too. Visited them and by luck they did have p4st dated Mar'21. Seems RR is preferred dealer of Michelins.

Bridgestones were not available or to be searched deep I guess. A R15 tyre was shown. Was just told the cost for R16 would be Rs.7500.
Conti UC6 was shown. I wanted MC5 and was told those are stopped.
Yokohama AE51 GT with ~Rs.7000 a piece.

Grabbed the Michelins; got p4st 195/55-R16 x4 costing Rs.8650 a piece.
Drive back home was absolute silence. A new experience altogether. Looking forward for long drives with new rubbers

Michelin Primacy 4 is now available at a few outlets in Bangalore. I changed my tires on my Vento TSI to P4ST finally last week. Got it done at Tyre Empire at Gunjur - so I am guessing it should be available in multiple outlets across bangalore.

Changing to P4ST after Apollo Alnac 4G is such a good feeling. I could realise what I had been missing for last couple of years. Brilliant set of tyres - totally worth even though they are a little pricey.

Michelins will be difficult to come by in the 14-16" sizes till the company sets up a production plant here which according to the dealer is about 2-3 years away.

We car owners better be open to other tyre brands now.
facing the same issue now. One of my P4ST sidewall got damaged by a sharp metal object.

Unable to find a replacement . Finally had to do good with P3ST 195/60 R15 . The dealer had only 1 tyre in stock.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

I would like to know how to find out if a Michelin tyre (or any other, say Continental) is genuine.

I ask since dealers that are listed on the Michelin website are quoting 10,000+ for Primacy 4 ST 205/55/R16 whereas a Continental dealer (listed on Continental website) is quoting 8100 for the same. What to do?

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

I've been quoted 8700 apiece for the P4ST's (195/55 R16) by a dealer in Pune. Does this sound right or are they available for cheaper elsewhere?

Always buy tyres from a trusted dealer, if you are a new to a city check with friends and family for recommendations. Last option check at the manufacturer's site for a list of authorised retailers.

About the price - Michelins are in short supply and as I mentioned earlier many dealers will attempt to price gouge or dispose off old stock. If you need to buy a new set of tyres be ready to consider other brands and models. I had to do just that earlier this year and shifted to Continental MC5 although my 1st choice back then and even today is a P4ST.

You got lucky. Fingers crossed! Just make sure you don't use the car on very rough roads. You really don't want another damaged tyre.

I believe it is a good price and you should go ahead, Please check the date of manufacturing before your purchase. I heard it might be available cheap in port cities but are expensive inland cities. My purchase in Bangalore was around this number for the same config.

Yes, I get dealers from the websites so as to mitigate dealer issues when dealing with warranty claims later on, if needed.

Funnily, the listed dealer for Continental is quoting me 8100 for Michelin 205/55/R16 (and no 2% on card payments) whereas the listed dealer for Michelin is price-gouging me, quoting 10,200 for it (and 2% on top of it for card payments).

Rs 8100 sounds right for a P4ST of that size given a 195/65/15 is approx. Rs 6700 before discounts. And no 2% extra means he's more honest than the listed dealer. Only thing is make sure of the year of manufacture. Don't buy a tyre that's over 1.5-2 years old.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

Replaced and Upgraded my stock Michelin Primacy 3 195/60/R16 ST , for my Honda BRV today. after 69000 kms, 54 months of using it.

The new tyres are Michelin Primacy 4 ST 205/60/R16 for INR 8800/ piece , manufacturing week of the tyres were wk 30 /32 of year 2021, from Balaji tyres JC road Bangalore. Wheel balancing was done free of cost. Paid INR 150 for valve.

Interesting got a quote for Michelin Primacy 4 ST 205/65/R16 for INR 8200/ piece, but the tyre was slightly scraping the doghouse plastic. Hence opted for Michelin Primacy 4 ST 205/60/R16.

Got recommended with INR 8000 for Michelin Energy 205/65/R16, But insisted on Primacy , due to its performance , reliability and smooth rides.

Got a quote for INR 9350 from Madhu tyres , Bangalore, for Michelin Primacy 3 195/60/R16 ST. Inclusive of new valves and wheel alignment. But They informed Primacy 4 unavailable .

Looking forward for another 70k kms with new rubbers.

I called Balaji Tires just now after reading this post. They do not have the Michelin P4ST in 15 inch - I asked for 195/60R15. Looks like only 16 inch was available.

Dear Brother, any specific reason for not continuing with the standard fitment size of 195/60R16 when the same is available with Bridgestone, Continental and others. I'm about to replace the OE P3ST tyres of my BRV(2017) at 45,000Kms although enough tread remains but the tread rubber has gone hard and developed minor cracks on the shoulder. I'm apprehensive about upsizing to 205/60R16 although it is within the 3% upsize limit bracket and upset at P3ST being discontinued. Anyway I hope you are having a good time behind the wheels with the new set of P4ST rubbers, do share your crucial experiences during this run-in period with the upsized shoes. In 2017 I had to replace the front right p3st tyre within the initial 1000Kms/25days of purchasing my BRV due to sidewall rupture within city limits, after that incident all is well and I have covered District Mustang in Nepal & Sikkim from Jharkhand among the prominent places without a single puncture. Take care brother, enjoy the P4ST and keep us updated.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

Michelin Primacy 4ST seems to be back in stock, at least in Bangalore. A dealer here is quoting 9200 for 195/55 R16, which seems like a reasonable deal. He said Michelin are importing 16 inch tyres and over.
