Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Upgrade to 195/60/15 tyres on the Ritz VDI recently. Alloys :- AVA Tyres :- MRF ZLO The handling and braking is simply superb now. Also after using the JK tyres with 36/33 PSI for 23k kms i find the ride quality of these tyres to be very good. People here have reported slightly bouncy ride after upgrading to 195 sections tyres, but to be very frank with you i didnt notice any thing as such . Infact i find the ride quaility to be better than the JK tyre, cross checked the same with wifey also and she also agreed as she always occupies the back seat with chotu . Not sure if being a DDIS Ritz makes any difference compared to the K12 ones , as k12 one are abit on the ligher side . Also was using 30 PSI on all tyres, but now have started using 32/30 and i think this is the perfect tyre pressure to be use with 195/60/15 tyre. Also would like to add, the good ride quality also could be because of the MRF ZLO tyres which were highly rated by Nikhil . If anyone wants to upsize to 195/60/15 tyres and wants to checkout how it rides/handles , please feel free to ping me and we can go for a test drive and you can check it out. Cheers |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() I think its marginal, did a recent trip to chennai and while going there got a mileage to 19+ and i remember last time when i went to chennai got similar FE only, may be a slightly higher. Will be able to get the exact FE within city with a weeks time. Usually i used to get around 16-17 in city on those 165/80/14 tyres. So lets see how much i get this time on these new tyres. Will keep everyone posted . Cheers. |

![]() Quick update on the city mileage :- 16.13 kmpl . This is the first tank full in city run. I guess a couple more tank full wills give the exact figure .because the earlier one had a 80 kms tbhp meet drive in the night with A/C ON. So lets see . Cheers

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() FE Update with 195/60/15 . 17.88 kmpl , i was also surprised to see this number when i calculated . But i must say may be because of new driving style the FE is better. Upshift @ around 2k rpm and try to maintain constant speed , rather than quick acceleration. Also really happy with the ZLOs till now. Cheers |

| ![]() Hi all, I too have changed my car tires to MRF Zlo 185 70 R 14 tyres and am really happy with these tires. Did a trip to Munnar and my diesel car returned me a mileage of 22 KMPL across the trip. Also, the handling while hill descent & ascent was extraordinary as the hotel where i stayed was around 500 mts downhill. |

| ![]() Getting a Maruti Ritz ZXI with JK 185/70R15 tomorrow. I am thinking of changing the tyres to Michelin XM1+ with the same specs. Can anyone help me with an idea about the approximate cost for doing this? Also, with about 500-700KM usage monthly, most of it within Bangalore city, do I really need to do this? Comments? |

Congrats on the Ritz. Michelin as far as I know are pretty low in stock these days. If you can get them, then that would be great. Each Michelin would cost you around 4100-4300 (current prevailing rate). If you are looking at ride comfort then Michelins are pretty good, grip is decent. Yokohoma A drives also fall in the same range. MRF ZLO is a good performance tyre. Any of these three would be leagues ahead of the JK Vectras.

| ![]() Thank you Srinath. I was thinking if it is worth the extra money given my limited usage. Still, I have a half mind for going for a tyre change, and the aim is to improve comfort. |

Im not sure which car are you driving right now and with what tyres . I feel limited using had nothing to do with tyre change, tyre change is done so that you get better ride comfort, grip, less noise etc. I have used JK for about 20+ kms and the moment i got then changed i could immediately make out why people are advised to change to better tyre as soon they get their car. Hope it helps . Anyways welcome to RITZY club, believe me its a beautiful car to own. Cheers.

| ![]() Hi, One of the tires in my Ritz Zxi has got punctured badly (has visited a construction site recently and drove over a heap of nails). The tyre is JK stock for Zxi. I have decided not to repair & continue with the punctured one (multiple punctures ; looks like a sieve). Is it advisable to go for a Michelin / Yoko tyre (rest 3 will be JK stock tires anyway) or should I stick with a new JK tire. |
