Karl, the Jeep has a Karnataka number, is there a probability of Pataudi family car having a Karnataka number? There used to one in Bangalore many years back which I though was the same one sold to Hyderabad. Maybe this is the jeep which went from Bangalore.

The Jeep is not MYG, but HYG. I assume Himachal Pradesh / Haryana registration? Probably owned by them since new, if not very long term.

Dear Friends

We are forwarding a mail received from Mr Nazir Hoosein of the IARC for a dinner organized for the 5th of April, 2013 at the West End Hotel. This is held for the revival of the Vintage Register of the IARC.

The invitation is open for all enthusiasts of Vintage and Classic cars & Bikes for the 1st meeting whose agenda is to discuss and understand the working of the register. Contribution and suggestions of Ideas is the key to make the register a win win for all. Events are one of the agenda's of the Register but many an issue faced by all of us like Taxes, Green Tax registration, regulations faced by us, Import of spares and Tires and any other such problems.

This meeting is to collect ideas and opinions from all present. The aims of this register are to help enthusiasts, IARC being a very old established registered forum does not seek to create another club and play rivalry.

Please feel free to invite all enthusiasts you may know who may be interersted. Those who read this mail and those who are orally informed, please ensure that you communicate your participation by email to nazirhoosein@iarcindia.com , or request those who informed you to confirm your participation to the organisors.

We are looking forward to your participation and hope that our numbers will help our causes.

Dear All,

This is to confirm what has probably been communicated to you on the telephone that our first dinner has been fixed at the West End Hotel which is located next to the Liberty on Friday 5th April, 7.30 p.m. onwards.

This will be a paid-for dinner and the charges per head have been fixed at Rs.1200/-. In case you require it, details of the menu are given below and it will be served as a buffet dinner.

As it may be inconvenient for people to remit or pay monies in advance, we will be setting up a table near the entrance to the hall where payment can be made. It is however important that the answers of those you have contacted and have agreed to come must be conveyed to me on Wednesday evening either on the phone as a number or preferably by email with names. This is because the rates change (even though the menu does not) if we cross 100 people and I am hoping to have a turnout in large numbers. Please also remember to specify those who are vegetarians and those who are non-vegetarians.

You may recollect that we had put down the reason for the revival of the Vintage Register and I will be reading out the contents of our decision. There will be a microphone available which can be used by anyone to put forward any suggestions which will be noted and we will certainly consider the same as the Committee of the Vintage Register.

We are making a new and I expect an effective beginning and I do look forward to your full support to ensure the maximum attendance.

Please remember that the membership will be thrown open to people who not only own Vintage cars and motorcycles but are also keenly interested in the propagation of the movement.

On a serious note, this is good news, I was always against forming a new club though we have the numbers. A revitalised existing organisation is a good platform where hopefully we all work together for our cause.

Wishing this event all the success, I will surely be there.

Here is a car from an older rally in Pune at the Blue Diamond (early 2000s) - I cannot recall this car though. Can someone identify the car and share more pictures perhaps?

This is a Plymouth Barracuda 1965/66. This car was yellow once upon a time, travelled from Indore to Pune with a Caddy, sold on to interiors in Maharashtra, glasses broken due to some disputes, now supposed to be a convertible. Its engine is a 6 cylinder with an auto box.

It actually seemed to be a stopover of a cross-country/intercontinental rally at the hotel and the cars were kept on display
Pics were clicked by a friend, Akshay and sent it to me


Also i found no particular thread pertaining to any such event,hence posting it here.
