Yes V-16, it does state diesel in the description section but when you scroll down it says that everything from speedometer to the Hurricane engine is original.

The F6-161 Hurricane was an F-head version of the L6-161 Lightning flathead straight six. It was used in Jeepsters and Wagons.(Found this info on wikipedia)

I think it would be better if you post a question to the owner, in case you are interested in the jeep. Maybe it was a typing mistake or the guy is dumb.

LOL khanak I don't think he will be giving it for free. What I understand from the advertisement is that-

1- as it is(free offer,to value from my side) - you have to make an offer if you want it in the same condition.
2-in running conditions and painted(60% of the price written)- 60% of the advertised value, i.e. 2.79L which comes to 1,64,700/-
3-in good conditions,also interiors etc(80% of the price written) - 80% of 2.79L
4-in mint conditions(100% of the price written)- 2.79L!!

Looking for American cars

Hi All,
I'm looking to buy a reasonably well restored American car manufactured between 1948 and 1965. Ideally would prefer cars located in or around Mumbai / Pune. I am not looking for cars that need to be restored completely though I don't mind putting in some restoration work from my side. The car should be in running condition. Any help from your side will be deeply appreciated. Brokers/agents are also welcome. Happy Motoring!

Read the bold part of the quote. It is quoted in the ad for the above car.
what do you mean strictly maintained? Was the car never allowed to leave the house?

the car is owned by a dealer. I have seen this car in the suburbs. Yes it is in good shape but you know what a few months of open parking next to the sea can do to a car. So do check for inner rust

Guys going for the car beware of the following;

Firstly, its a 115 a few months ago he wanted 4 lakhs and came down to three which is also ridiculous for this type of car.(I, for one should'nt be complaining coz i have the same car so my car will automatically fetch more than 5 lakhs when ready as it will be in better condition with this absurd logic)

Secondly, the car has timing chain and water pump related work

Thirdly, the man could'nt produce papers when asked, so that is also a problem

Fourthly the car has'nt moved from its parking place since at least 6 months.

Fifthly, all said and done, nothing justifies for such a high price for a 114/115,
And its not even a maharashtra car its got Bangalore plates or South plates surely.

bhai i think i know the car in question. MEA plates look very familiar. the car has no papers and it would a pain if someone bought it. trust me bhai when your car is ready it would be valued at much more then what this guy is asking.

payam i would like to have the car seen in original condition. all the kits and new wheels that people put on the car thinking it looks cool kill the actual show of the car. they are more like classics wasted.

yes i agree amatmo. this is a different colour scheme than what you see on mini's but if it were originaly kept it would look better. maybe if the whole car was black with white stripes running through it would look better.

Payam, the contessa is cut from the firewall and mounted on the roof of his accessory shop.
