Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

BBC Radio Kent, shared this on Facebook

"Ana sent us this photo, taken in 1936."

Quote:
Ana said 'my father is the 6 month old toddler in his grandma's lap and my grandmother is wearing glasses. This is during British rule in India and our family were fairly well to do, the car was the family car and they were on a picnic. You can see tennis bats. An idyllic family day (although everyone looks so serious).

Sadly 14 years later my dad lost his mother, father and two sisters in a train crash in 1950. It was a terrorist act and the family were devastated. This photo is a snapshot of happy, carefree days and is proudly framed in my home'

Super pic shared by Jacqueline Colaco on the Bangalore facebook page, her brother Joe astride a Madras registered Lambretta. Note the single coloured handle bar and side panel badges for these early models.

Joseph Frankel shared this lovely image

Quote:
Almost all oil portrait paintings of the Nizam & family were done from 1885 to 1946 by Samuel Harper Frankel of Germany & his son Albert Frankel.
Here we can see Albert Frankel with his staff on the way to the Nizam's palace in 1927 to do a painting.
