Do not think so. The car posted by Travancore is clearly a Cadillac. See the hub caps, bonnet louvers, mudguard park lights, shows it is a different car to the Chevy

Cheers

The Mysore Cadillac was very similar to this. Though, it likely was a limousine or 7-Passenger.

There are photos of a 7-Passenger Imperial Limousine (with sidemounts) here:

"Doing a Mysore" again - Cars of Maharaja of Mysore-mysore-electric-car-before-lions-head-dassara-192x.jpg

Here is an interesting photo. It looks very much like the Mysore Anderson electric car.....with a few differences.

Similarities: Bonnet shape, dickey seat, rectangular front axle.

Differences: No Lions head upfront, edge valences to the mudguards, no wheel discs, colour.

Perhaps the electric car before modifications and repainting ? The car following is the Silver Ghost 57YB.

Re: "Doing a Mysore" again - Cars of Maharaja of Mysore

Cross-posting.

One of the better videos of the Mysore Daimler during the Queen's visit, 1961.

Unfortunatley the link doesn't work.

Re: "Doing a Mysore" again - Cars of Maharaja of Mysore

This 1931 Chevrolet at the Gedee Museum has always been of much interest to me because of the MYM Registration and it sporting a V with the Mysore Gandaberunda.

Finally a friend who studied in Mysore, recollect this car and connected with the family of the previous owner. He was able to get a period picture of the car in Mysore, when it was in private ownership. The car was then sold to a doctor in Coimbatore. The original lights we given with the car.

The son of the then owner is serving sugarcane juice!

The car remains in excellent condition at the Gedee Museum

The owner's son, cannot seem to remember how this car came to the family. Since the period picture was also taken in Mysore and it was sporting the Gandaberunda even then, probability it is a Palace Car is very high.

Re: "Doing a Mysore" again - Cars of Maharaja of Mysore

This 1949 Delahaye 175 Coupé sporting an exquisite design by Figoni et Falaschi. Once owned by the Maharaja of Mysore and later by Elton John

Quote:
This Delahaye 175 was once owned by the Maharaja of Mysore in India and, for some three years, by singer Sir Elton John. It was originally built for the Maharaja as a left-hand model, as a sunroof coupe in silver, and it is one of the 50 Delahaye 175s built between 1948 and 1951.

The car remained in India until the early ‘70s, when it was bought by an American businessman and shipped to the U.S., according to the description on Bring A Trailer, where it’s currently being sold. From there, it was sent to Europe and auctioned in 1979, and would enter Sir Elton John’s garage in 1980.

The singer only kept it for some three years, until 1983. In the late ‘80s, the car was converted to its current form, as a cabriolet and painted in red, with gray interior and a beige top.
