Plan-B has worked.

Got a lot of help from my uncle and most of his collegues, 4 of them (Air-Traffic Superintendents ) put their best effort in helping TNT get through the process very logically and Legally. Thank you all for the moral support so far, would expect the same till the car gets restored, Most likely the spares will reach me in the next 4 days time.

The inside part of the floor was not treated, had lot of different plans for it, but my paint shop guy adviced me on spraying Epoxy primer.

Got the materials and hopefully by weekend we will finish this part, The mechanic has the engine ready and waiting for us to get the car over to his place, which will be done only after the spares arrive and i check them. A simple Test-Fit and remove.

The place where i source Paint products are the main Paint dealers in town (HINDUSTAN PAINTS) and the people there are my Bank Customers, aslo very close friends of mine

So quality products are 100% guaranteed. 3M seam sealers are supposed to be The Best and this is the first time i am using the Epoxy primer, need to learn a lot more about these products.

re: Pilots & his 1950 Mouse Restoration - Fiat Topolino Delivered

My mechanic is actually taking too much time, this is usual but Joy's patience is getting tested

This is one thing i like about my mech, very methodical in approach, one thing at a time and at his own peaceful time, usually one needs to understand that such kind of COMPLICATED and INTRICATE work needs to be done with LOTS of time at Hand, so i am still willing to wait.

Met up with him today to find out whats the latest, He says..

" 1) The Engine block and the Head is perfectly mated, and ready to go.

2) Your old mechanic has glued the tappet screws and i am not able to adjust the tappets. i have now got new tappets from the 118NE which i am working on right now, might take 4 more days.

3) Get the car over to my place, as i need to place the engine and the radiator on the car to start , i will not get the exact level of their placement on the ground, need the car.

4) Please have patience, i cannot hurry up this work "

Well, i need to take the car over to his place, but i am still waiting for the spares to come and i will be spraying the epoxy primer on the floor to prevent rusting.

Its almost a real slow pace for work on this car since the last 1 month. Inspite of this, my running around to get things organised has suddenly increased.

Hope things fall in place soon.

Pavangaru, I hope you have received your package.

I suggestion. The engine looks very messy, i hope you planned to re-coat or refurbish it completely, else it would look out of place.

Thanks for your concern Chetan.

Had a tough time on Friday and Saturday, i was called for inspection, and i really had a Horrid time for over 4 hours, convincing the Customs guy that these are Brand New parts. Finally he let it go.

Duty Charged : Rs. 33890/- ( Earlier discount of Rs. 7000/- cancelled since the Decklid door did not look new to the Audit guys)

But they have released the package as per their Legal terms, so one has nothing much to say in this. I might receive it any moment.

And regarding the engine, yes, i will be scraping down the engine and will paint it, but all that once it completes the Test Run.

And finally the NANO comes home..

After almost 5 visits to BIAL customs office, 3 odd TNT office visits and 1 month, the parcel reaches home

As on date, this tiny little box costs a TATA Nano

More tomorrow after opening the Pandora's box..

Inder,

We got the spares from Switzerland . Highly expensive

Contact:

TOPOLINO CASAGRANDE
Christine Casagrande
Feldmattstrasse 10
CH-6032 Emmen
Tel. +41 (0) 41 260 45 06
Fax +41 (0) 41 260 45 10
e-Mail: casagrande@topolino-parts.com

And i really doubt if they have any spares for any other FIATs apart from the Topolino's.

What we got are few NOS spares and few Re-pro spares, but i still say, they are damn expensive...

Parts for centre light fiats are available in India too, only thing we need to search. In Delhi scrap yard you will certainly find some of the stuff. Furhter mumbai can also yield some stuff. And Finally eBay italy is another source.

Re: A Pilot and his 1950 Mouse - Fiat Topolino EPI coating

Sunday myself and Joy went over to the mechanics place, we could see him working on the engine slowly but steadily. He was ready to start it, but found some issues with the Carb, And he instantly stops his work. Only to continue FRESH the coming weekend.

Yesterday the painter made ME wash the insides of the car, i did a mistake of showing him my Black & Decker car wash unit

Anyways, works getting done, thats all i need.

1) We washed it thoroughly,
2) Sanded it down,
3) Applied seam sealer wherever necessary
4) Sprayed the E.P.I coating,

1 Litre is actually not sufficient, need to get another litre tomorrow to finish.
