I had to sir...That was the closest match for the original tool box dimensions.

I tried to get it fabricated, but the box was looking too crude to begin with. So had to go around our good old "GUJRI" and suddenly my eyes fell on this box, and rest is history.

You need a good one, let me know, i shall source one for you too.

And yes, i got hold of a really good one for it. But dont worry, its found a nice place for the rest of its life

Anna...! please go through some earlier pages, I have a very detailed photographed posts on the Underbody Anti-rust coating. The inside of the car is E.P.I coated, which is much better than the Antirust coating.

I will be spraying another coat over this.

Re: A Pilot and his 1950 Mouse - Fiat Topolino EPI coating

Now for some damping material,

This is a BITUMEN sheet, works as

1) Damping material
2) A rust preventer
3) Adds Aesthetic value
4) Also strengthens the floor

Not too expensive, but a wonderful product.

Will be using this for all my future restorations..

Pavangaru, nice going. Waiting to see the engine been fitted and tested.

Dose this Damping Material absorb heat? Also will this help as a sound damping?

Great going.. Eagerly waiting for further updates.

Pardon my ignorance, but I seem to have these same sheets to cover a shed which was leaking this monsoon.

Am not too sure if it should really used for cars though. But to spread it out on an Aluminum sheet , we first had to use one coat of Bitumen then this sheet and then another coat of Bitumen. Then we had a bit of a cyclonic weather and the sheets blew off!!!

So, with my ignorance in place wonder how it would be of real use in a car or any other vehicle!!!

Cheers AK

Re: A Pilot and his 1950 Mouse - Fiat Topolino EPI coating

Well, there were too many things that happened while i was BANNED here on T-BHP

1) The work on the engine has been more or less successful
2) The Body work is 99% complete
3) We have gone few levels up with the paint job.
4) Guide coat(comprises of 75% of painting) is done.

Thank you Prithvi.

Kindly guide if you have ANY inputs in the process that i might have missed.

BTW, the starter gave way couple of days ago, i am not really aware if its the ORIGINAL Starter, but it has cranked several hundred times successfully. Last 2 weeks the electrician has been finding it tough to source matching parts to overhaul it

Good news is, YES... Its almost ready.

The car is getting fitted with Steering box, Steering column, steering wheel and door locks, It will be towed 10 kms to the mechanics house, where it will be completed for the Brakes, Engine fitment, and probably, if all goes well,. will be running on its own power back to the paint booth...
