Discount : Honda 40k + Dealer 20k

Not sure if I did the best possible haggling for a car that is barely selling.
The dealer informed about the VIN - It is an April 2016 manufactured car. Really in a fix if I should accept or reject!?

Don't pay anything now. Go to the yard, check the car thoroughly and then negotiate further for discount as it is a 4 month old car standing idle in their yard.

If you get any discounts, good else depending on car condition decide if it is worth buying or no.

Thanks. They are not ready for further discounts. They have agreed for PDI at showroom only, so they will bring the car from their yard and I am assuming it will be polished and all that so that there is a greater chance that I accept it. It has been standing idle at Honda's yard (as we know that Diesel Jazz is not selling much).

Stay away from this car if they are letting you do the PDI at the dealership. Don't it at the dealership will never give you the cars real condition the way it was stored for 4 months.

IMHO try booking from another dealer.

Thanks for your suggestion. As per the dealer, the manufacturing month is not known to them (while placing the order at Honda) until they receive the vehicle. Is it true?

Partly true. But if they place an order maximum it can a month or two old.

I l booked Honda Jazz V CVT with Capital Honda on 13-Jul.
No cash discount. Freebies: mats, body cover, seat cover, illuminating side step.
The dealer said it will take about 30 days for them to get the car.
On Aug 11, they said the car has come and can go to the yard to see the car. I was unable to go to the yard and asked them to bring the car to showroom.
Performed a PDI and very much satisfied, its July 2016 manufactured.

One query i have is, the car has clocked 37 kms and upon querying the SA, he said the unloading has happened in sriprumpudur and driven to the yard in chrompet chennai and then to the showroom in OMR.
Is this the way its done with Capital Honda?

Congratulations on your purchase!

37kms is very acceptable; most cars are driven up to 50-80kms before delivery because the unloading yards are far off from the city and have to be driven to showrooms, and then some for PDI by the dealer.

Today I got the VIN number of my Jetta 1.4 TSI Comfortline Silk Blue and it read WVWA16--- That is January 16 production. The dealer says TSI only A series has been produced and B or C has not been produced as there is no order for petrol Jetta. The car was shipped from Pune yesterday and relevant invoice and shipping documents vouch that. For diesel cars with VIN number March 16 is currently being shipped. This is what the sales manager says. Kind advice requested how to proceed.

I thought I'd mention this: I recently seriously considered the Jetta and my pick was the blue shade. While most other shades and diesels were available within a month of booking, the dealer (B.U. Bhandari) in Pune said that if I wanted it in blue, there would be a delay as it is not produced as much and as often. The other thing, Jettas spend some time at the customs so any Jetta at the time of delivery is already a few months old.

This is what the SA told me, and I ended up not buying the Jetta.

Jan '16 still sounds far off though. Can you try other dealers?

^^I have not tried any other dealer as I think all are going to give same story. The dealer will put me through to their Regional manager and also their Production manager in Pune on Monday to get more on this. The car is in transit and I have only paid an advance if 2 lakhs. Let me see what they have to say and then I might try to squeeze more discount.
