Last year, Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Benelli entered the Indian two-wheeler market in collaboration with Pune-based DSK Motowheels. Now the company has announced that it will launch its motorcycles in the country on March 19.
The Benelli India range will consist of five models - TNT 300, TNT 600i, TNT 600GT, mid-size naked TNT 899 and TNT 1130 R.
The TNT 300 will be the entry-level offering from the company. It is powered by a 300 cc, liquid cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC, inline twin-cylinder engine that produces 37 bhp @ 11500 rpm and 27 Nm of torque @ 9000 rpm.
The TNT 600i and TNT 600 GT are powered by 600 cc, 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC, inline 4-cylinder engine develops 82 bhp @ 11500 rpm. While the engine produces 52 Nm of torque @ 10500 rpm in the 600i, it develops 55 Nm in the 600 GT.
The TNT 899 has an 899 cc 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine that produces 121 bhp @ 11500 rpm and 88 Nm of torque @ 10500 rpm.
The TNT 1130R will be the most powerful bike in the company's India line-up. It has a 1131 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder engine that can put out 158 bhp @ 10200 rpm and 120 Nm of torque @ 8400 rpm.
All bikes come with a 6-speed transmission.
Bookings have opened on March 10, 2015. Motoroids has managed to source the approximate ex-showroom prices of the bikes from a dealer in Pune.
