Citroen Basalt SUV coupe unveiled ahead of India launch

The Citroen Basalt SUV coupe shares its underpinnings with the C3 Aircross.

Citroen has revealed the Basalt Vision concept. This is the final model in the brand’s C-Cubed program, which will go on sale in India in the second half of 2024.

The Citroen Basalt SUV coupe shares its underpinnings with the C3 Aircross. Essentially a coupe version of the Aircross, it also shares several design features, including the front fascia with its split headlamp setup and dual LED DRLs.

The Basalt gets gloss black cladding around the wheel arches that give it a square-ish look. The cladding continues along the door sills and the rear bumper. The SUV has a coupe-like roof line with a steeply raked rear windshield and square-ish wraparound tail lights.

Citroen hasn’t revealed the interior of the Basalt SUV coupe concept yet. However, we can expect it to be similar to the C3 Aircross. Under the bonnet, the Basalt could use the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with either a manual or automatic gearbox.
