Made-in-India Aprilia RS 457 launched in the UK

The RS 457 rivals the Yamaha YZF-R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400 in the UK.

The Aprilia RS 457 has been launched in the UK at GBP 6,500. That is approximately Rs 6.79 lakh. The bike is manufactured in India and exported to the UK.

The Aprilia RS 457 is based on an aluminium frame suspended by a 41 mm upside-down front fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. It rides on 17-inch wheels and is equipped with disc brakes at both ends.

Powering the RS 457 is a liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. It produces 47 BHP, which places it in the A2 category of bikes, alongside the Yamaha YZF-R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400. The engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets a ride-by-wire system and an optional quick shifter.

Aprilia launched the RS 457 in India last year at a price of Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
