Rumour: 2017 Mahindra KUV100 facelift in the works

Mahindra is reportedly working on a facelifted version of the KUV100. The automaker hasn't revealed any official information in this regard. However, reports suggest that the company is planning to bring some cosmetic tweaks to the car in order to tone down its relatively quirky styling.

The KUV100 was launched in India in January 2016. It was targeted at customers who were looking for a small car with SUV-like looks. However, the KUV didn’t manage to appeal to a wider customer base, mainly due to its relatively quirky styling. In April 2017, Mahindra sold 2,141 units of the KUV100, thus suffering a 58% drop from the sales figure of April 2016.

In an attempt to prop up sales of the KUV100, Mahindra is now planning to introduce a cosmetically updated version. It is being reported that the new model will come with cleaner design cues. These will include some nips and tucks at the front, while the tailgate is also expected to be redone.

The 2017 KUV100 is expected to be launched by the end of this year. It will compete against the Maruti Ignis.
