Toyota Innova Hycross sales cross the 50,000 mark

Toyota has sold over 2.3 million vehicles in India.

Toyota has announced that the cumulative sales of the Innova Hycross have crossed the 50,000 unit mark in India.

The Innova Hycross was launched in November 2022. It is based on the TNGA platform and is available with pure petrol and strong-hybrid powertrains. The 2.0-litre petrol puts out 172 BHP and 197 Nm. The strong-hybrid version also uses a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with Toyota’s 5th-gen strong-hybrid tech for a combined output of 183 BHP.

The Innova Hycross is available in six variants with prices starting at Rs 18.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The MPV comes in either a 7-seat or 8-seat configuration and is equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control; among other features.

Toyota has sold over 2.3 million vehicles in India, starting with the Qualis. Today, the brand offers a wide range of products, including the Glanza hatchback, Urban Cruiser Hyryder compact SUV, Innova Crysta, Fortuner and the Hilux.

Nissan Magnite surpasses the 1 lakh unit sales milestone

Nissan has also announced the launch of a new web-based platform called Nissan One.

Nissan has achieved a new milestone in India as Magnite sales cross the 1 lakh unit mark.

To celebrate the milestone, Nissan has launched a new web-based platform called Nissan One. Customers can use the platform to request a test drive and book a vehicle. It also offers a referral program for customers.

The Nissan Magnite was launched in 2020. The compact SUV was introduced at an introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available with two engine options – a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 71 BHP and 96 Nm and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that puts out 99 BHP and 152 Nm.

Last year, Nissan launched the Magnite AMT in the Indian market. It is available with the 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed automated manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga crosses 1 million sales milestone

The Maruti Ertiga leads the MPV segment with a market share of 37.5%.

Maruti Suzuki has announced a new milestone as Ertiga sales cross the 1 million unit mark. It is said to be the fastest-selling MPV in India.

According to the company, first-time Ertiga buyers have increased up to 41%, and 66% of the Ertiga buyers consider it as a pre-determined choice. The MPV currently has a market share of 37.5%.

The top-end variants of the Ertiga are equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic headlamps, cruise control, and more than 40 connected features.

The Ertiga is powered by a 1.5-litre K-series engine featuring mild-hybrid tech. It produces 103 BHP and 138 Nm and is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The MPV is also available with a factory-fitted CNG option.

Maruti claims a fuel efficiency of up to 20.51 km/l for the petrol version and 26.11 km/kg for the CNG version.

Hyundai Creta facelift clocks 51,000 bookings in 1 month

The Creta facelift is available in seven variants with prices starting at Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV gets a heavily redesigned exterior as well as a revamped interior with several new features.

The new Creta is equipped with ADAS, which includes safety features like Lane Keep & Following Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Collision Avoidance, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Driver Attention Warning.

The Creta facelift is available with three engine options, including a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 113 BHP and 144 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual or CVT; a 1.5-litre diesel that puts out 114 BHP and 250 Nm, offered with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol that produces 158 BHP and 253 Nm, that is available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Kia Seltos crosses 1 lakh bookings in 6 months

Automatic variants account for nearly 50% of the total bookings and 40% of the buyers opted for variants equipped with ADAS.

Kia claims to have received over 1 lakh bookings for the updated Seltos since it was launched in July 2023. Over the last 6 months, around 13,500 vehicles have been booked every month.

According to Kia, automatic variants account for nearly 50% of the total bookings. 40% of the buyers opted for variants equipped with ADAS. The growing popularity of sunroofs is also evident from the fact that 80% of Seltos buyers opted for this feature.

The Seltos is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual and a CVT, a 1.5-litre diesel that is offered with either a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic and a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is available with the option of a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT.

Kia has also revealed that the ratio of petrol to diesel bookings was 58:42 in favour of petrol, with 80% of the buyers opting for the top variants.

Since its initial launch in August 2019, Kia has manufactured over 6 lakh units of the Seltos, with nearly 75% sold in the domestic market. In 2023, Kia sold a total of 1.04 lakh units of the Seltos.

Mahindra Scorpio-N production surpasses 1 lakh units

The Scorpio-N is available in six variants with prices starting at Rs 13.60 lakh.

Mahindra has achieved a new production milestone as the 1,00,000th unit of the Scorpio-N rolled off the assembly line.

The Scorpio-N was launched in June 2022. Today, the SUV is available in 6 variants – Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, Z8L and Z8L 6-seater, with prices ranging from Rs 13.60 lakh to Rs 21.97 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Scorpio-N is available with two engine options. These include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 200 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 380 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm and a 2.2-litre diesel that puts out 172 BHP @ 3,500 rpm and 400 Nm @ 1,750-2,750 rpm. 

Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. It gets all-wheel drive with Mahindra’s 4xplor terrain management system with low range and four terrain modes: Normal, Grass / Gravel / Snow, Mud / Rut and Sand.

Mahindra sold 43,068 SUVs in January 2024, registering a growth of 31% compared to the previous year. The carmaker’s total exports for the month of January stood at 1,746 units, compared to 3,009 units in the same month last year.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx clocks 1 lakh sales in 10 months

The automatic variants of the Fronx contributed to 24% of sales.

Maruti Suzuki has sold over 1 lakh units of the Fronx since its launch. It achieved the sales milestone in a record 10 months.

The Maruti Fronx was showcased at Auto Expo 2023 and was launched in the Indian market on April 24, 2023. The carmaker states that the model has been instrumental in more than doubling its share in the SUV segment to 19.7% in CY2023 from 10.4% in 2022.

The Maruti Fronx is available with two engine options. These include a 1.2-litre K-Series Dual Jet motor that makes 89 BHP and 113 Nm. It is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The second engine option is an all-new 1.0-litre K-Series Boosterjet turbo-petrol that puts out 99 BHP and 148 Nm. This engine is offered with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the automatic variants of the Fronx contributed to 24% of sales. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol version also witnessed considerable demand.

The Fronx is also exported to markets in Latin America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The carmaker has exported over 9,000 units till now.

Volvo crosses 10,000 units production milestone in India

The first model that was built at the Hoskote facility was the XC90. With over 4,000 units sold, the XC60 makes up the majority of cars produced to date. Today, the XC40 Recharge is one of the best-selling models in India for Volvo, with over 500 units sold.

In 2023, Volvo registered a growth of 31% compared to the previous year. The carmaker sold 2,423 units, including 921 units of the XC60 and 180 units of the XC40 Recharge.

Tata Punch production surpasses the 3 lakh unit mark

The Tata Punch competes with the Hyundai Exter, Maruti Fronx and the Citroen C3.

Tata Motors is celebrating a new production milestone as the 3,00,000th Punch rolls off the assembly line.

The Tata Punch was launched in October 2021. The first 1 lakh units were produced in just 10 months post its launch, while the next 1 lakh units rolled off the production line in May 2023.

Tata currently offers the Punch in four variants – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. It is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 84 BHP and 113 Nm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

The Punch is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit. There’s also a pure-electric version in the works. It rivals the Hyundai Exter, Maruti Fronx and the Citroen C3.
