Nissan Magnite production crosses the 1,00,000 unit mark

The Nissan Magnite is available in four trims with prices starting at Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom).

Nissan has achieved a new production milestone with the rollout of the 1,00,000th Magnite from its Chennai plant.

The Nissan Magnite was launched in December 2020. The crossover is exported to 15 markets across the world. More recently, the car was introduced in Seychelles, Bangladesh, Uganda and Brunei. Nissan Motor India has exported more than 10 lakh vehicles from its Chennai plant to 108 destinations, including New Zealand, Australia, countries in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, South-East Asia, SAARC, Sub Sahara and African regions.

In India, the Nissan Magnite is available in XE, XL, XV Executive, and XV Premium trims, with prices starting at Rs 5,99,900 (ex-showroom).

The Magnite comes with two petrol engine options. These include a 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 71 BHP @ 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm @ 3,500 rpm and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 99 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 160 Nm @ 2,800-3,600 rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and CVT.

Kia Seltos records 5 lakh sales in just 46 months

Kia sold 27,159 units of the Seltos during the first quarter of 2023.

Kia India has achieved a new sales milestone as Seltos sales cross the 5 lakh unit mark in just 46 months of its launch.

Kia made its India foray in August 2019 with the launch of the Seltos mid-size SUV. Since then, the model has contributed to 55% of the brand's net sales, including exports and domestic sales. During the first quarter of 2023, Kia sold 27,159 units of the Seltos. The company sells an average of over 9,000 units per month.

According to the company, 1,35,885 units of the Seltos manufactured in India, have been exported to nearly 100 overseas markets. These include markets in the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, Mexico and the Asia Pacific region.

Kia is now gearing up to launch the Seltos facelift in the Indian market. The updated model will get several changes both inside and out. The SUV is also expected to get safety features like a 360-degree camera with blind spot assistance as well as ADAS.

Tata Harrier production crosses the 1 lakh unit milestone

Tata Motors is now gearing up to launch the Harrier and Safari facelift in India.

Tata Motors is celebrating a new production milestone as the 1,00,000th unit of the Harrier rolled off the assembly line.

The Harrier was launched in 2019. Today prices for the Harrier start from Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV received an update earlier this year, which added features like a panoramic sunroof, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Powering the Harrier is a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 168 BHP and 350 Nm. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, Tata Motors is now gearing up to launch the Harrier facelift. The updated model will receive several cosmetic changes. It is also expected to get ADAS this time around.

In the next 2 years, Maruti sold 5 lakh WagonRs taking the sales tally to 20 lakh units. 25 lakh sales were up in 2021 and within the next 2 years, the carmaker sold another 5 lakh units of the hatchback.

According to the company, the WagonR has been the best-selling model for the last 2 consecutive years. Currently, in its third generation, the WagonR is available with 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre K-Series engines, which now come with an Idle Start-Stop system. It also comes with a factory-fitted CNG kit.

The WagonR is based on the fifth-generation Heartect platform. The car is equipped with a host of safety features, including ABS with EBD, ESC and Hill-Hold (AMT).

Mahindra XUV700 production crosses the 1 lakh unit mark

Mahindra has sold over 90,000 units of the XUV700 since its launch.

Mahindra has achieved a new production milestone as the 1,00,000th XUV700 rolled off its production line.

The XUV700 went on sale in 2021, and since then, Mahindra has sold over 90,000 units of the SUV. Such is the demand that the company has a huge backlog of deliveries with a waiting period extending over a year.

The XUV700 is available in two trims: MX and AdrenoX, in a 5-seater or 7-seater configuration.

The SUV comes with two engine options - 2.0-litre, mStallion turbo-petrol producing 197 BHP and 380 Nm and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that makes 182 BHP and 420 Nm (MT) / 450 Nm (AT). Both engines come with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive will also be available as an option.

Tata delivers 10,000 Tiago EVs in under 4 months

More than 600 Tiago EVs have each clocked over 4,000 km already.

Tata Motors has achieved a new sales milestone with the delivery of the 10,000th Tiago EV in less than 4 months, making it the fastest electric car to reach this milestone.

According to Tata Motors, more than 1,200 Tiago EVs have each been driven for over 3,000 km. More than 600 cars have each clocked over 4,000 km already. It is said that almost 90% of the charging is done at home, which amounts to cumulative savings of over Rs 7 crore when compared to the running cost of ICE cars.

The Tata Tiago EV is available in four variants with prices starting at Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The car comes with two battery options: a 19.2 kWh battery pack offering a maximum range of 250 km and a 24 kWh battery offering 315 km (MIDC) on a single charge. The Tiago EV is compatible with fast charging. The battery can be charged from 10-80% in 57 minutes using a DC fast charger.

The announcement comes just days following the launch of the MG Comet EV. It is available in three variants priced from Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra sells over 1 lakh Bolero SUVs in FY2023

Sales of the Classic Bolero increased by 28% in FY2023 compared to the previous fiscal.

The Mahindra Bolero has achieved a new sales milestone as sales crossed the 1 lakh unit mark in FY2023.

The Bolero was introduced in the year 2000. Since then, the carmaker has sold over 14 lakh units of this rugged SUV. It has been acquired by municipal corporations and government departments for firefighting, forestry, irrigation, public works, emergency services and other operations. It has also been part of police, army and paramilitary fleets.

The Bolero Neo was launched in July 2021. The compact SUV uses body-on-frame construction and is powered by Mahindra's mHawk100 engine.

According to Mahindra, sales of the Classic Bolero increased by 28% in FY2023 compared to the previous fiscal. It is powered by the mHawk75 diesel engine producing 75 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 210 Nm @ 1,600-2,200 rpm. The SUV gets micro-hybrid tech, offering engine start/stop across all variants.

Suzuki Motorcycles rolls out 7 millionth unit from Gurgaon plant

Suzuki achieved record sales of 9.38 lakh units in the financial year ending March 2023.

Suzuki Motorcycle India has achieved a new production milestone with the rollout of the 7 millionth unit. The celebratory unit was a V-Strom SX in Champion Yellow No. 2 colour.

Suzuki Motorcycle India began its operations in February 2006. Today, the bikemaker offers a wide range of products which include the V-Strom SX, Gixxer SF 250, Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF, Gixxer, Access 125, Avenis, Burgman Street and Burgman Street EX. These are manufactured at Kherki Dhaula in Gurgaon.

Suzuki also offers a few models from its big bike portfolio in India. These include the popular Hayabusa, V-Strom 650XT adventure bike and the Katana.

Suzuki is said to have achieved record sales of 9.38 lakh units in the financial year ending March 2023, registering a growth of 24.3% compared to the previous fiscal.

Tata Nexon crosses 5 lakh unit production milestone

The last 1,00,000 units of the Tata Nexon were produced in just 7 months.

The 5,00,000th unit of the Nexon has rolled out of Tata Motors' Pune factory. According to the company, the last 1 lakh units were produced in just 7 months.

The Tata Nexon is one of the most popular models in the carmaker's product portfolio. It was first launched in 2017 and has since received a few updates. However, the crossover is due to receive a major facelift soon.

The Nexon is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. These include a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 118 BHP and 170 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel that puts out 108 BHP and 260 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and AMT.

The updated Nexon is expected to get Curvv-inspired styling with a sleek LED light bar up front and several other changes all around. Inside, the car will get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new 2-spoke steering wheel.

Mahindra has announced a new production milestone as the 1,00,000th Thar rolled off the assembly line. The milestone has been achieved in less than 2.5 years since the launch of the new Thar.

The Thar is now available in both 4x4 and RWD variants. The former is available with two engine options. These include a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder mStallion petrol that produces 150 BHP and 320 Nm and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel that makes 130 BHP and 320 Nm. Both engines are available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The two engines offered on the Thar RWD include the D117 1.5-litre diesel, which produces 117 BHP and 300 Nm and comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The other option is the familiar 2.0-litre turbo-petrol that makes 150 BHP and 320 Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Mahindra is now gearing up to introduce the Thar 5-door, which should help the brand tap into a wider customer base. The Thar 5-door will not only offer a capable off-road package, but it will also have the practicality of a mid-size SUV.
