Dual booting on Mac using Bootcamp is very easy. In fact, I have triple booting on my iMac.

Bootcamp is free and can be downloaded from apple. It might already be on the machine or the disks that came along with it but am not sure about that.

You'd have to bring your own copy of windows to the party.

Also checkout Virtualbox. A free VM SW for Mac.

If you want to try an all free route then I'd suggest Mac-> Virtualbox->Ubuntu->Wine.

If you want to run both OS parallely you'd have to go with a virtualization software. You can try virtualbox, which is free and is almost as good as vmware fusion.

Anyone connecting dual monitors to a MBP? I'm thinking of connecting 2 el cheapo monitors but seems MBP doesn't support that unless you have the thunderbolt displays or an external graphics solution. And the new thunderbolt displays are pretty expensive.

Bought a new iPad with Wifi and 3G for my daughter. It is pink as she likes it the most.

Also got a Macbook Pro for myself for use on those official trips. Its easy to use and also now with the Office for MAC 2011, its all the more easy

Guys. I'm in a dilemma! My to-be-wife is hell-bent on getting a macbook pro. She's a creative content writer. Is this a good decision? Should she be really going for it? Also, if any bangalorean is reading this let me know where can I buy it on discount! And what about the warranty bit? Should I go for it?

You can wait for 11 months more to buy the apple care which is about 13500 INR now. Basically you can add this anytime in the first one year of purchase. I picked it up just last month for my MBP.

Anyone here using iTunes with Airport Express to stream music from your laptop to a remote AVR+Speaker system via wifi?

There is this annoying issue where iTunes/AE suddenly drops the streaming midway between songs. i.e. the song keeps playing in iTunes but no output at the AE end.

This issue has been reported but no concrete solution yet, please let me know if you have encountered this and what have you done to fix the same ?

Thanks

The curse has arrived - since the last week my AE also now stops streaming music for a few seconds ...the song continues playing in itunes

Sorry to hear that buddy.

Its an old problem that has been reported several times

Here are some of the threads and the possible workarounds people tried
Thread1
https://discussions.apple.com/thread...art=0&tstart=0

Thread2
https://discussions.apple.com/thread...5880&tstart=-1

This dude has given multiple solutions , with no direct fix.
I tried all of them, and over time the problem resurfaced.
How I fixed my dropping wireless Airport connection problem in Snow Leopard

Other threads
Airport Extreme - Internet Connection drops daily!? - MacRumors Forums

There are lots of other threads you will find with people discussing the same issue.

Some claim the culprit is Airport Extreme, some ran an Ethernet cable to solve it.

Best of luck, and let me know if any solution works for you.

Visit the local apple store or the one in UB City and enquire about refurbished laptops with warranty. Saw an emailer from them about it recently.
