Re: Renault (including Duster Unveil) @ Auto Expo 2012 :: EDIT: Scoop pictures on pag

The dealers have stopped taking "advance bookings" ! Seems like no one knows when Renault is launching this...

and one more thing.. there is no remote fuel lid release.
Just a fuel tank flap and you can flip it open with your finger and then use the key to open the tank cover. just like in bikes. and a built-to-a-Cost measure !

I think I need to plan a Chennai trip just to go to the Oragadam route to catch a glimpse of the Duster.

In Chennai i don't find any of the Renault dealers accepting the booking amount in the first place then where is the question of dealers stop taking "advance bookings"
How did you know the Duster don't have an remote fuel lid? have you seen it in flesh? when & where? can you elaborate on various other elements you saw?

Renault Egypt Duster Specs page indicates that luggage space, GC and some other specs are different for 4X4 and 4X2 versions. Here is the link - Renault - specifications

Some Pics in Agra Traffic

Was coming back home for lunch today on my usual route which is 10 km's from my place. And I see the Duster camouflaged so since I had the camera could manage to click 2-3 shots.

Has very nice road presence. Looks big and was zipping around in traffic quite nicely.

I am interested to know the price. It looks like a good compact SUV.

Looked much larger than the YETI & almost the same size as a Outlander !! Probably 15-20% smaller than the Captiva.

Also this had 2 rows. No 3rd row. The 2nd one had 3 headrests.

vkochar : Were you able to notice the interiors?, few pics posted in the thread said of having beige interiors

Also, why do they take the pain of camouflaging the exterior since the same was put on display for everyone to see in Auto Expo this year.

The last photo brings out the presence of the vehicle (like the vodafone idli ad).
It looks much better on road than the Ecosport for sure. Hope they change the horn placement, add remote fuel lid opening etc.

The interiors I noticed were not beige not black - more on a greyish tone BUT I may be incorrect. I did notice the HU ( placed high ) was quite huge so it probably looked like it may have SatNav. Also the dashboard was Black that I can confirm.

Was at the Renault Dealership yesterday to TD the Fluence, and the staff were talking casually about the Duster's training programs. On enquiry they told me that the car should be launched by mid to end June. Not sure how authentic their info is, because a lot of websites and blogs are now reporting an Oct launch.

I did a brief comparison few months back in the same thread, it is larger than the Yeti and the Eco Sport and slightly smaller in length to the Scorpio.
