Re: Car logo theft / monograms stolen in India

Some retard got hold of the Volkswagen logo on the wheels, that too only on the right two tires, my face went blank for a second thinking someone would actually do this, did make me laugh a little though.

Now I have to find where I can get hold of them again.

Re: Car logo theft / monograms stolen in India

In case the logos are found missing for the very first time, I would not mind taking a chance and replacing them with the ones obtained from authorized agents by paying premium. However in case of repeated instances, it would mean that the culprit has maintained a track/ trace of my vehicle and would repeat his acts now and then. In such case, I see no meaning in supplying him with genuine logos at my cost. I would rather resort to fixing imitation logos at much lower price and deter the culprit.

Re: Car logo theft / monograms stolen in India

Rather an interesting (yet funny) incident.

My partner's BMW X3's logos got stolen. We were planning to order another set of logos from the authorised dealer. Before doing that, We called up local PI-Police Inspector (PI was a badminton companion) just to unofficially complain about that incident. Our Local PI asked us to visit Police station for a cup of tea. We went to Police station. PI opened a small metal box in front of us, it was full of different logos of premiums cars. He offered us to take BMW's logo without any cost. We denied as we didn't want "chori ka mal" (Stolen goods). PI explained us that police always find this kind of stuff with a seasoned automobile thief.

Later, we got it installed from Parsoli Motors, Ahmedabad.

My Pulsar 200 Dtsi had '2' removed from its logo, leaving the zeroes behind.
Though I replaced the same, I had to buy the entire logo set as you can't get a part of it separately.

Re: BMW 320d & 328i : Official Review

My BMW logo on the hood was stolen yesterday. Usually I park my car inside the house and never park on the street. Some drain repair work is going on and hence had to park it outside and the first thing I notice today morning is the logo missing. I was so upset and yelled at the workers who have been repairing the drain for 5 weeks now (though its actually not their fault). How much would a new one cost? Does anyone have experience replacing the logo? Does BMW service center stock them. The car looks ugly/weird without the logo and I want to get a new one asap. Thanks in advance.

Re: Car logo theft / monograms stolen in India

I used to collect logos. But not by scrubbing them off car bonnets or alloy wheels. Just the ones I used to find on the side of the road. I had 4 logos after 7 years. I can understand the craze in having an entire wall painted with automotive logos though. But to steal them off bonnets? Its just crazy and wrong.

In the 80s, our car cassette player was stolen from our Ambassador at night, while it was parked inside the house! Went to the police station, were offered a variety of stolen cassette players to choose from. Early 2000s, my friend's CD player was stolen from his car that was parked on Residency Road, after the thief broke the front window. Again, when we went to the police station to complain, were offered a selection of CD players!

The more things change, the more they stay the same...

Re: Car logo theft / monograms stolen in India

An amazing thing happened in our apartment complex. A guy's Merc had its three pointed star badge stolen.

So what did he do other than find another Merc in the same complex and steal its badge past midnight - but unfortunately, in full view of a cctv camera?

Toyota logos will be in high demand now for current Baleno users to "convert" their Maruti to Toyota!
