Thanks for the information Shashank. The low beam is abysmal in i20. I think Osram NB+ suits me the best which can improve the low beam. I rarely switch on to high beam except in highways, so the performance of high beam doesn't matter to me. I'll also checkout the Philips ultra vision suggested by you.

I mostly encounter truck traffic on my regular route and they respect the fellow road users by switching onto low beam. But out of the cars which I encounter, 98% of them never switch to low beams blinding the oncoming traffic.

I also drive around in my Polo mostly within the city, only on rare occasions do i wish for a more powerful setup. You'll be happy with the NB+ within the city as the low beam is a lot better when compared to stock.

Its sad to hear that car owners drive with high-beams in the city. I encountered one such moron on road, when i switched to high beams on my NB+ he automatically went back to low beam.

What is the service inter val for the i20 crdi ? Is it 10000kms/6months? If so, the car is serviced twice a year right ?

Even tractors and pickups reduce their beams but car drivers are very reluctant to switch to low beam. Its just a matter of pulling the stalk.

As mentioned by shashank.nk, Osram NB 60/55 doesn't require any tweaking to the existing wiring, you will just have to replace your old one. I used Osram NB in my Dzire, but I was not happy with the visibility when it rains especially on the highways. Hence moved on to 90/100W with relays.

So true, NB does help in that regard. Even on my Avenger switching to High beam means the guy in front dips his light.

YOu may not even have to go to Hyundai to change the lamps, Just read on their service site, they charege 120 bucks to replace a pair of head lmap bulbs, its a simple DIY, check your owner manual and it will be done in less than 10 minutes.

Do let me know the performance of those horns, i want to change my Brio's too.

I have been using the Bosch Symphony horns from past 6 months and pretty happy with the performance. It's not very loud but enough to catch the attention of cab, bus, auto, truck wallahs. It's a plug and play type and doesn't require any tweaking in wiring.

This is the condition of the OEM mats after 1 year of abuse.



The quality of OEM mats is pathetic. With those huge cuts in the mat, my shoes used to often get stuck and also the inner carpet was exposed to dust.

I had read lot of good reviews about Kagu 3D mats and inquired in some car accessories shops but none of them had stocks. Yesterday I saw these mats in a shop which is on the top floor of Forum mall and he had 1 set of stock for i20.

I liked the design and also it gels with the interiors perfectly. It doesn't slide all over the place and provides perfect grip.

Black color is available. I was looking for black color too but it was out of stock for i20. The store guy installed black mats of Verna for the sake of comparison but I felt the beige ones looked better which matched with interiors. But black will be easier to maintain. It costed around 5K.

The beige mats gel superbly with the beige interiors . Even I went for the same color of 3D mats for the linea last month. The only problem with this color is the practicality. It keeps getting dirty quite often and needs little more maintenance, especially when stepping in with muddy shoes in this rainy season. But again, maintenance is no big deal since these mats can be washed under the tap and put back again. When in the car, the beige color gives a rich and upmarket look and feel to the interiors. Good choice overall! Black is too common, and also looks dull and boring!

I was looking for these Kagu mats from past 3-4 months but none of the shops had stock with them. But when I saw your mats in flesh during the last meet, I decided that my old mats will be replaced only by Kagu mats. Luckily I was able to find a set in one of the shops in Forum Mall.

Gave my car for 4th service today. The current odo reading is 29750 km. Hyundai's spare parts prices have shot over the roof. I was surprised to see in the bill that the diesel filter was charged Rs.1736. It was Rs.700 during the last service. I asked about this increase of Rs.1000 with SA and he mentioned that the current diesel filter has a new design and was released into the market 2 weeks back. I asked him whats so special with this "new filter". The answer was just a smile.

The total bill amount was Rs.5917. This includes the following parts, labour and services:

1. Mag Wheel Weights
2. Interior cleaning and durowax polish
3. Engine Oil
4. Consumables (Care Plus)
5. Filter Cartridge (Rs. 1736 )
6. Filter - Air Cleaner
7. Service Kit - Oil Filter
8. Wheel Balancing
9. Wheel Alignment
10. Periodic maintenance service
11. Injector cleaning
12. Brake Drum cleaning
13. Caliper Greasing
14. Throttle Body cleaning

I had given the car in Advaith Hyundai Bannerghatta road for first three services. This time I gave it in Advaith, ORR since its nearer to my office. I was told by the SA that the car will be ready by 6 pm and the car was returned to me within the promised time. The job done was very neat.

Overall I'm very happy with the performance of the car. Not faced any issues. There was a minute hole found in one of the tubes going into the fuel injector due to which the liquid used to get sprayed slightly in the engine bay. It was promptly rectified by the service center.

I've given my i20 CRDi Asta for the 3rd service today. It has done only 13500 kms, but as my baby completes it's 1st year today I had to get it done.

The service guy said that as the car has done only 13500 kms( 20000 is the required mileage) I may not have to change the diesel filter which other wise I should've changed. He said that he'll do as per my choice. So I'm confused whether to change it or not. I hope fellow i20 owners can help me

You might have changed the cartridge in earlier service. If yes, there is no need to replace it at 13.5k. Hyundai recommends to change it every 10k km. FYI, I had changed the cartridge at 20k km in my Verna CRDI.

Thanks Bro. Actually, The service guy also said the same and so I didn't change it. I'll have to change it during my next service.
