Re: 2 decades of Team-BHP | A Happy 20th to our community

What a blast of a time to have joined as a member here just as the community celebrates its 20th! I've been a member of other forums, written on other online platforms and so on. Nowhere else have I seen such quality language used along with good content except of course actually professional excerpts.

I personally think that, reminders like the lead post of this thread with screenshots, especially like the one showing the threads deleted, merged and such are very essential to keep track of how much work actually goes into just maintaining quality. In industries, we use the Japanese lean working term, '5S' which I'm sure most people here would be familiar with. That concept has been wonderfully applied to TBHP and it has paid off like magic!

1S - Seiri - Sort - No redundant or unnecessary language, topics, posts.
2S - Seiton - Set in order - Neatly indexed threads under thread categories
3S - Seiso - Clean - Regular moderation and deletion of junk content
4S - Seiketsu - Standardise - Forum policies in effect right from the get go
5S - Shitsuke - Sustain - Combined effort of everyone to keep up the quality

I only hope and have confidence that this strife for quality content will only improve TBHP further and achieve greater heights and give us even more community birthdays to celebrate! Congratulations to all!

Congratulations to GTO and the Team for achieving the milestone. I tried may be three to four times in the last five years and it was nothing short of an achievement when I was finally accepted into the tribe.

The quality of content is definitely unrivalled, and I like the way Moderators keep check on the quality of discussions.

Happy 20th TBHP !!

I'm so glad SOME forums still exist on the internet, like this one. It's the best way to obtain and archive information unlike social media where it gets lost in the ether, not to mention how absolutely garbage internet search engines have become in the last few years.

Hopefully we will still be around for the 50th birthday, enjoying our cars and drives and not sitting in our self driving pod plugged into an Apple Vision 20 Pro Plus

Re: 2 decades of Team-BHP | A Happy 20th to our community

20 Years! and many many many more. Happy B'day T-BHP.

I bought my first car in Aug 2011. This thread was my first handshake with this forum (https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ve-review.html (Hyundai i10 Kappa2 : Test Drive & Review). I've never been away from this forum since then. I've owned 7 cars in the last 13 years, all the credit goes to the members of this forum to fill me up with accurate/genuine information that I needed.

A big shoutout to all moderators who keep the quality of the content in tact over the years.

Been a reader for a long time and now being a member, I feel happy. Puts a smile on my face whenever I see vehicles going by with our T-BHP stickers. Love it!

Happy Birthday!

Re: 2 decades of Team-BHP | A Happy 20th to our community

Happy 20th birthday to TEAM-BHP! Congratulations to all the members of this invaluable platform. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all the administrators, moderators, and support staff for keeping the site up and running, and to all the members and contributors for filling this forum with quality content every day.

In all honesty, I can't think of any other platform on social media or the mainstream internet that has been able to maintain such a high level of quality for such a long time. This forum has given so much to members like me who visit regularly but rarely contribute (almost never). It's a true testament to how to build a successful world-class social media platform without succumbing to all the pitfalls that the open internet is often plagued with.

Re: 2 decades of Team-BHP | A Happy 20th to our community

A belated happy 20th, TeamBHP! It is indeed with great pride that we announce ourselves as BHPians. We have grown from focussing to our auto fantasies, to discussing our lives with a bunch of like minded strangers. Shifting Gears section is a big testament to it.

You've made many of us great authors with a twist of wit and humour along with the ability to convey complex information in relatively simple terms. You've made some us amazing photographers, that brings out the beauty our muse (our beloved rides ). You've enabled critical thinking, arming us with abundant knowledge and letting us contribute valuable pearls in a serious discussion. We are one big family and we "Live to Drive"!

I hope TeamBHP continues to grow with many feathers in its cap, and remain as "India's leading automotive forum".

Re: 2 decades of Team-BHP | A Happy 20th to our community

Congratulation to the founders, moderators and all the active participants for maintaining a forum like this. I have gone through most of the comments above and agree with glowing tributes and general agreement on the top notch quality on the content.

I just wanted to highlight one aspect of the forums. Whenever I want to buy something (like an airconditioner, a laptop, a camera etc.), I first search our forums for relevant discussion. After that only, I look at reviews on Amazon or others. The reason is that I trust the mature members here.

Wishing the forum even more success in the years to come

Re: 2 decades of Team-BHP | A Happy 20th to our community

As a 21 year old myself, it feels truly surreal to be a part of this esteemed forum that's almost as old as myself. Not even once have I experienced any sort of partial treatment by any of the members and this truly is the only platform I've seen on the internet with zero hate, personal attacks and lewd comments, especially in the age of overwhelmingly toxic social media.

Similar to many people of my age, I once thought that forums and written content are outdated in the age of Instagram and YouTube. Today, I'm proud to say that I spend more time here than on the latter where a vast majority of social media users use such platforms to blow off steam from their personal lives at the cost of personal attacks on other users or their achievements. TeamBHP in stark contrast, inculcates an overwhelmingly positive environment, inclusive of everyone and their opinions while maintaining the highest standards in language and content quality where members maintain a very open attitude towards all sorts of automobiles regardless of them being powered by electricity or fossil fuel, originating from India or China or it being affordable or expensive. This not only facilitates positive discussions but also has a positive impact on one's day or general mental health.

While one can enjoy quality new car reviews through many sources, TeamBHP truly stands apart as the chronicle or time capsule of high quality documentation of the Indian automotive scene for the past couple of decades. It feels truly surreal to witness what it felt like to purchase, own and maintain landmark cars in our industry back in the day. As I am now able to buy pre-worshipped examples of my childhood dream cars such as the Mercedes W211, BMW F10, Honda Accord and Suzuki Kizashi, TeamBHP helps me re-live my personal "golden era" where I wish I was an adult in the 2000s-2010s, of how it was to experience my "holy grail" cars back in their heyday!

I would like to conclude this post by reiterating how big of an impact this forum has made to my life by helping me exit the clutches of addicting and toxic modern social media, by providing a platform to positively engage in discussions of my favorite entities aka "cars" without fear of judgement or hate, by uplifting me whenever I felt down and by never failing to fascinate me with Indian automotive history.

With that, I wish TeamBHP a very happy 20 and I wish more people my age discover this wonderful platform and carry it forward through 20 more glorious years!

Team-BHP is by far one of the most useful sites on the net, for vehicle enthusiasts. By now, the GUI is a little dated. Would you consider bringing in some modernity and make it more contemporary?

Re: 2 decades of Team-BHP | A Happy 20th to our community

Happy 20th Team BHP!

I’ve been posting actively since 2011 and I must say I’ve learned so much, be it cars, 2 wheelers, automobiles in general and heck almost every other thing in life in the treasure trove of information called “Shifting Gears” section of the forum - The LCHF and weight loss threads for example helped me lose 21kgs to transform my life, not just my lifestyle!

My timeline here has been like this:
  • 2008-09 Reader/lurker
  • 2009 Applied for membership without giving serious thought to answering registration questions and application rejected
  • 2009 Applied a second time and filled the registration sincerely with thoughtful responses and registration approved
  • 2009-11 Remained a reader and was a reluctant poster
  • 2011 onwards started posting mostly on route queries, then travelogues and then everywhere else, totally hooked to the forum! I’ve made several friends through this forum and it continues to grow.

My day is incomplete without reading/posting on Team BHP and this is the only social media channel I’m active on currently.

Wishing the very best for the forum and the amazing members here, here’s to the next 2 decades.

Managing a high-quality forum for 20 years is no small feat and congratulations to all the mods involved in achieving this! I was a reader of the forum for the past 10+ years before membership and Team-BHP has helped me to get a good understanding of automobiles. I especially love the travelogues and the joy it brings in experiencing as if I had gone for the trip myself. Not to mention the valuable information that comes in to help plan my trips.
