Dollars Colony is near Mekhri Circle / Indian Institute of Science / Malleswaram. MSR mentioned here should be MS Ramaiah College.

First time hearing that 3M showroom there though. Heard of a 3M showroom in HSR Layout before

3M Car Care is in HSR Layout / Bommanahalli. Heard that there is another franchise in RMV layout which got opened recently. I do not know the exact location.

The road leading from sanjay nagar to MSR hospital. It is located somewhere in the mid section of the road. You cannot miss it!

Re: 3M Exclusive Showroom in Bommanahalli, Bengaluru

I was here last saturday. One quick point is that the prices has been further increased. I took the under chassis coating with 5 year warranty. Earlier it was 2795, now its 3195. I had called the earlier night and booked the appointment for 11.30am. I was told that the work will take around 1.5 hrs. On Saturday, I reached around 11.30. I was then told the car will be ready for delivery around 2-2.30pm. Since I did not want to wait for over 3 hrs, I opted to comeback around 2pm and went to watch a movie in Forum.

I was surprised when I got a call at 1.15pm stating that the car is ready and can be picked. My 500 bucks could have been saved :(. I told them that I will be in only 2.30pm and reached there after the movie. The car was ready and they had given a complimentary wash. If I had been asked to pay for the wash, they would have got blasted. Because that was the quality of the wash. You could the water stains all over the glass after it was wiped with a wet cloth.

Anyway, I asked them to show the work that was done. They took the car back to the work area and I was shown the coating that was applied. I think they had not covered the silencer properly because some part of the silencer was also sprayed. When I asked them about it they told me that it will go off once the silencer gets heated. I dont know how true this is. But I could not do much at that time.

I also inquired about the 3M film RE35. I was quoted 4k including installation. I remember somebody paying 4k for the CS20 as well. So dont know if they were just mentioning a generic rate.

Receptionist, workers and others were customer oriented and helpful. But regarding the quality of work, I am neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. Given that I drove all the way from Mysore to get it done, I would not be really interested in returning back immediately to get any new services in near future. Dont go expecting out of the world work quality and you would return content with the work done.

Yes it's like that, underbody coating is not applied on silencer parts

If it's for the Figo then RE or CS series should be 3.2K. They have prices printed so you can ask for them to show you. Maybe the prices went way up since the time I got my Figo's done.

Re: 3M Exclusive Showroom in Bommanahalli, Bengaluru

I just spoke to Siddu from 3M Car Care HSR Layout.

asked him quotes for Swift front sunfilm CR 70, & Under Chassis (Anti Rust & Sound Deadening) Coating.

Here are the quotes.
Under body Anti Rust Coating
Rs 3195 with 5 Year warranty (Sound deadening)
Rs 1695 with 2 Year warranty (Non sound deadening)

What amazed me was, he said they do NOT install front Sun Film CR70 on swift and swift Dzire, as there is a technical problem in installing the film.

They said they use some chemicals and shampoo to clean the surface of the glass and he said in that process there is some called a BCU or BCWU that may get damaged.

I have no clue what it is, but Siddu said it controls the AC and they have heard of burnouts in the A/C after installation of the sun film. which is weird. Anyone had any such experience?

Re: 3M Exclusive Showroom in Bommanahalli, Bengaluru

Installed RE50 (sides + rear) & CR70 (Front) yesterday. Also got Under body anti-rust coating + wash done. Will post a detailed review soon.

@gearbox: Regarding anti-rust treatment, the price diff is only because of the warranty period. They use the same bottle in both cases. Confirmed by pradeep.

Re: 3M Exclusive Showroom in Bommanahalli, Bengaluru

Last sunday, i paid a visit to their outlet in bomanhalli. And as usual, courtsey team-bhp, my budget was overshot. I think it hit the roof this time - Read on and you will know why

What i bought:
(Pre-decided) RE50 (sides + rear) = 4000 [3 yr warranty at their outlet only]
CR70 (front) = 6790 [3 yr warranty at their outlet only]
Underbody coating = 1295 [2 yr warranty at their outlet only]
Car Wash = 245
Total = 12330

Why 3M?
A very trusted brand & an exclusive company outlet in blore sounds yummy. I was specifically looking for 50% sides and 70% front type of films.
Vkool was on the higher side so i quit. Moreover, they were not able to explain the various types.
Garware & Llumar - didnt even bother.

First impression:
Neat and tidy place. Luckily it was empty when i went which meant proper attention. Staff is nice and courteous. Sidu was not present so i was interacting with Pradeep. Sunfilm demo was really helpful. Products on display - Diesel & petrol additive, Tech wax 2.0, Leather upholstrey cleaner, Tire foam, car cover, Tissue paper holder, Funky decals, Engine flush, Micro Fibre towels)

Quality of Work done:
1. Sunfilms > Very nice job done. Debris cleaned after installation.
I really can feel the change in the cabin temperature. Oncoming glare has reduced as well. Earlier, with AC on, the sunrays would really heat up the skin. Now, nothing happens. The Glass is cooler from inside now. Left the car in open for some 30mins or so, when i came back the cabin was much much cooler than before. Without sunfilm, i had to roll down the windows and then get in. Now, no problem. Mother-in-law confirmed the "no-more-skin-heating" thing. I have labeled the sunfilms as "Mother-in-law approved sunfilms"
The shampoo + water solution that they use, turned reddish (glowing red) when put on CR. Someone was talking about this somewhere on tbhp. Installation done by 2 people (specialist of sunfilms, dont do any other job)

2. Underbody treatment > Car was pressure washed first. Once dry, they sprayed the underbody coat excluding exhaust pipe, plastics. Attention to detail was given. Following parts were covered with newpaper / some special paper -- door panels, Disc & drum brakes, exhaust pipe.
Sound deadning - I need to take my car to office and then only i would be able to know the diff. Will keep you posted. 3 guys to prep, 1 guy to spray.

3. Car Wash > Very simple process here. Wash the car with high pressure water gun, Spray foam on the car (yeah foam wash - think it was meguires) & then rinse it off. Clean the car with MF towels. End of story. They forgot to vaccum the car but once they came to know about it, immediately got the vaccum and cleaned the interiors. Dashboard, interior door panels were cleaned with a special interior solution. Removed everything from the boot, vaccumed the boot & put the things back in place. Nice. There were like 4-5 people working on the car.

-ve's
All the glass area had smudge marks. No big deal, i cant clean it myself. Had i asked them, they would have definately cleaned it.PERIOD
Dash is now more reflective.
No discount given. They said they have sent an offer to tbhp (for tbhpians) and if i give a printout of that offer, i can get the discount. Couldnt find the offer anywhere.on tbhp. Checked classified too. They have promised to refund the discount amount - will update this thread later.
No Glass cleaner, Wash mitt, other car care products available for sale.
Cleaned the car wash foam immediately after spraying using a MF towel. Another wash was given after this > another round of MF to dry the surface.
Feedback given to keep the foam for sometime and then rise it off with water (not with MF)
Also, the foam was a very thin layer unlike the ones which look like a thick sheet of ice.

+ve's
sunfilm demo was good.
No hurry kind of work. Take prior appointment if required.
Sunfilm effect is awsome. I mean coming from a OEM glass (no sunfilm) to these sunfilm - it feels great & it WORKS !!!!
Cleanliness maintained inside the cabin.
Complementory cleaning of hard water setteled inside the chrome logo "CHEVROLET" & "SPARK LS" (I asked for it). Logos look new now.
Complimentory removal of unwanted stickers (i asked for it) - Old parking stickers on the windscreen, GM stickers on the rear.
Hotel southinn next to 3M serves very good kerela parantha.

Overall:
Sunfilm - If you want a film which is legal + VFM, for sides and rear, go for RE50. For front, your call.
Underbody - Sound deadning not noticable as of now. Will post later on the result.
Car wash - Foam wash really works. Worth 245/- ? If they spray a thick amount of foam and leave it for 2mins (or whatever time period is essential) - Its a YES.

Hope this benefits this community. Will post the pics soon.

PS: Met another tbhpian "agentsmith" there. Very nice chap. Got an Honda city vtec + FFE + zabardast ICE. Our man used to go racing on kari speedway in his days of freedom (yeah, hez married now). Agent smith - this community needs people like you.

@quadra, congratulations. It feels great after a visit to their shop and CR70, even though it is expensive, is totally worth it. While I cant compare with other brands, but the heat energy cut off really works in my car. The film was installed in 3M Pune shop about 4 weeks back. The price was almost same.

Do you know how much they charge for their premium exterior detailing in Bangalore? Thanks a bunch for letting us know that a print out of the discount offer is needed. The 3M folks here know me by name now, but don't know about TBHP (at least till 2 weeks back)
