Congrats ! It's June 2015 model. The ninth character 'F' stands for the June month and the tenth character 'F' stands for the year 2015.

Can someone help me decode this for the vento (enroute for delivery): MEXH15608GT026687 please:

MEX = VW India
H15 = Aug 2015
608 = vento??
GT ==> THis is what confused me - I have only see FT in the brief checking that I have done. But GT means 2016 model whatever that means!!
026687 = serial #

Is this accurate decoding - any other comments?
Also is it that the GT most likely would be FT -- and might be a typo by the dealer? :Frustrati

Please confirm the VIN again as the tenth character 'G' represents 2016.

Has anybody else got a Vento delivered recently with the 10th character as 'G' ?

I clarified this with the dealer -- apparently some VW handling. This is a change which is see now, i.e., Sep'15 onwards -- all cars manufactured (after some cutoff date?) will be indicated as the 2016 model and this will continue until ~Jul 2016. I dont know understand what sense this makes -- but now the VIN is confirmed and I can maybe post a photo whenever I get my eyes on the car (~2 weeks+).

The initial thread mentions chassis number characters of Hyundai to be 19 however I have been provided a 17 character one so not sure what to make out of it. Am I missing something?

Congrats ! The VIN number provided is incomplete and Hyundai VIN will have 19 characters. The tenth character 'F' denotes that it's a 2015 model. The nineteenth character represents the manufacturing month and the VIN is stamped below the driver's seat.
