Hi,

Can someone help me with the following VIN: MEXK15609GT039938

It is a Polo 1.2 3-pot manual and the guys are promising immediate delivery (I saw the car in the stockyard and seems ok). As mentioned on this page, it appears VW no longer uses the WVW series. Thanks!

Congrats! If you are skeptical, ask for the latest VIN.

Congrats! It's October month model. The fourth character 'K' represents the October month. The fifth and sixth character represents the production year and in your case, it's 15 which stands for 2015. The tenth character 'G' represents that it's a 2016 model.

Hi all,

This is my first post on TBHP. I recently booked a Hyundai Xcent SX petrol. During discussions with the Sales adviser, I was assured that I would get a vehicle with a manufacturing date of less than 2 months. The SA provided the VIN details yesterday and I just finished the inspection of the vehicle at dealers' stockyard. On checking the VIN, I decoded the manufacturing date as Aug 2015. The Odo was at 16km. Everything else looked fine in the PDI.
Is it fine to go ahead with the purchase of 4 month old vehicle?
Also, should I ask for more discounts since it's a slightly older vehicle?

Thank you

Hi Aromasfet, how many characters did your SA give for the Hyundai. My i20Active SA gives me only 17 Character that ends in Numerals. Thanks

Hi itssmano, The SA gave me only 17 characters. This doesn't have the manufacturing month. The complete 19 character VIN is marked under the driver's seat below the carpet flap which can be opened. The last two characters will be "*X", Where X indicates the manufacturing month.
In my case this was *H, which corresponds to Aug. I also found a small paper note below the center console which indicated the exact date (4th Aug). probably when it rolled out of the production line.
This also matches with the datecode of the tyres, 31st Week 2015, which is the last week of July & beginning of Aug.

You can probably ask the SA for the VIN under the driver's seat, or you could check it yourself when you do the pre-registration check.

Could you help me decode this VIN- MEEHSRCF6FA003972 . The Sales rep has given it for my new Duster want to know which month production.

Thanks in advance

Congrats! It's October 2015 model. The tenth character 'F' represents the year 2015 and the eleventh character 'A' represents the October month.

Congrats! Please ask your sales advisor to provide the full VIN as Maruti Suzuki's VIN has 21 characters. The last two characters (20 & 21) of the VIN represent the month and year respectively.

Thanks. I cancelled the s cross booking. Going with a polo GT TSI. Have put up the VIN for that in this thread.

Looks like Nov 2015 after reading the first page of this thread. Kindly opine.
